Jesus was very specific here when he said..

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

and i don't think he was talking about some guy in the National Enquirer.. He's talking about someone claiming to be Christ on earth..

This scripture is not saying that!

I believe what I believe and there is nothing that will persuade me otherwise. To address others concerns is this: how do you know your right and the church you attend is right? How does anyone navigate in this world that has so many different religions and denominational beliefs to find the truth? A lot of what I have heard in these post is personal opinions which has been planted by church leaders or a personal opinion. As I stated before, I only posed these question to help others see deception could come from modern day church leaders. I mean it gets pretty bad when God wants to spew something out of His mouth as He will with the church of Laodiceans.
We definitely live in the Laodicean church age. So many have lost their love and gone cold. You are right to let the Holy Spirit be your guide. I have attended churches that had known demons in the church and the pastor would do nothing about it. You need to "Let the anointing of God teach you" as it says in 1 John 2:27 because He abides in you.

Thank you and you are right.

Be back later, to answer your post, have something to do right now..
Will have to find scriptures also...

Later...
,
Ok
I'm back, took awhile, lol
All have given you great scriptures.
In Mark 13:12
It states
The brother shall betray the brother to death, the father the son, children their parents..
Most will believe that the suppose antichrist is Christ, wanting you to go and worship him.
They are deceived.
Satan is death...

As in Rev.17:4-6
The harlot...
The deceived ...
These are suppose to be the virgin bride, but taken by deception, becoming a harlot worshipping the false Christ.
She was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour...
Religious...

Dangerous advice for someone you do not know.

This scripture is not saying that!

Only because your not reading it with understanding...

*edit: forgot this...

John 6:69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

Could someone tell me what Jesus means when he warned us in the scripture below:
Well, this thread started with an attempt to appear humble, but you didn't last long.
if you have read the Bible you would have seen that
Slow down in your thinking here and listen to what I am saying.
For anyone with Christ in them, being called out as prideful has to be about the worst thing you ever want to hear, because it's what Jesus Himself saw as the most destructive flaw in man. Someone with the Holy Spirit in them takes this to heart. S/he doesn't dismiss it out of hand and plow forward. Someone focused on self does.

Taniesh, would it cause you pain if a believer or two warned you that you were being prideful? Is that a criticism you'd take seriously and want to address?

The Holy Spirit is my guide and teacher and I will stand on that till the day I leave this world. I know you have not had time to read and think about what I said before you posted a remark so all I have to say is I only say what I am told by The Holy Spirit to say and if you have a problem with what was said then I suggest you talk to God about it and ask Him.

Wow. That's it? That's all? Don't you think that sounds a little over the top? Go talk to God about it if you have a question about the thread I started...?

And you're supposedly trying to help us poor lost souls who don't understand? Wow. Did the Holy Spirit tell you to talk to people like that?

Ya know, if you're only going to say what the Holy Spirit tells you to say...maybe you shouldn't ask questions...? Just sayin'...

answer to your 5th question it appears you all are not allowing any help. Neither are you allowing anyone who could come in to see the point I was trying to get to without writing out 30 paragraphs to explain. If you are who you claim then we could talk as one of the same spiritual family but I see others here are not too happy to do so without assuming I am prideful. One thing is for sure I am very proud to know The Lord Jesus Christ.

Naw it ain't painful for myself to be called prideful rather the pain is there is a miscommunication between what I am trying to say and what you think you should teach me and I am well aware of scripture and I am not here to boast just to share the truth and maybe others won't have to be in the dark.

Just a wild thought here...
Did it occur to you that maybe many of the members of this forum are edumacated extensively in scriptures. Some with doctorate level degrees in ancient Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, and Early Latin?
That these people write thesis papers on the hermeneutics of deciphering the manuscripts from which your translated Bible comes from?
And others are heavily schooled in History, anthropology, theology and sociology of the Ancient Near East and Roman Empire and Early Churches?
.....
And that maybe that some members of this forum actually have something to teach you instead of the other way around?

Just a wild thought....

Taniesh do you hope and/or expect to grow in your faith and knowledge of the Lord during the remainder of your life? Are there understandings that have changed or evolved over time already, even in the past few years?

Since being recruited into The Way International have you stood on what you know as the extent of your growing?

I will say this one last time and let it be done with that I am not part of a cult you consider as the way international. As far as scholar and university education means what they were taught by a collection of people who thinks in their own understanding what the scripture are saying. Jesus did not say we must go to a university so we can learn. Let's see what he says about it.
MATTHEW 18
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Paul was also a well educated man in the old scrolls of what we today consider as the old testament and Jesus even had to blind him to get him to see the truth that Paul (Saul) was actually going against everything Christ was doing. The scribes and pharisees also were educated in the letter of the law and ready to condemn anyone who didn't comply then they got to the point they were using that to control the people and to gain wealth to themselves while in the background playing footsy with Rome.

And as a result of Paul's education he wrote 2/3 of the New Testament.

Where no one is demanding that you swallow whole everything a scholar has to offer it is prudent to listen to those who (because of their love and devotion to God) have made their lives centered on learning everything possible about the scriptures.

When I was in Slovakia two weeks ago I learned some new things from a Genesis PHD (yes a doctoral degree from the one book) that were absolutely delicious. He is going to be arriving in the States this week to put together another research paper to prove more stuff. And I spent two years of hard core studying of the book myself.

He is in his 30's....I'm much older than he...but it doesn't matter. He has some great ideas and information to share. He also has been living in an area where 25 years ago you could go to jail for being a Christian. (He is an American though)

But the point is that where I wasn't expecting to learn anything (and truly few can go beyond what I have already studied) I found something delightful and wonderful in him.

This is the internet. Every person who claims Jesus Christ is God is welcome here.... even if they have letters behind their name. And usually ALL have something of value to offer to everyone who wishes to grow in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our Father.

John you said "And as a result of Paul's education he wrote 2/3 of the New Testament."

i thought it was due to his anointing... his education was getting believers killed before he met Jesus..
