The First People In Heaven – Men
There has been a trend in society, and in Christendom, to promote women over all else. I've sat through many sermons where male preachers purposely degenerate the man to gain favor with his mostly female congregation. In one instance a male pastor stated that a woman, Mary Magdalene, was the true apostle of Jesus Christ for she was the first person to see the resurrected Christ.
This push to make women the hallmark of the Christian faith seems to contradict the bible. God's Holy Spirit reminded me that the first person to be resurrected with Jesus Christ, and therefore one of the first persons to see the resurrected Christ, was a man.
The contrite thief, who was crucified along with Jesus Christ, had asked Jesus to let him be with him in heaven and therefore a man, a common thief, was one of the first persons to see the resurrected Christ in heaven.
Additionally Moses and Elijah were already in heaven to witness the resurrected Christ.
An interesting fact is that the other thief that was crucified along with Christ taunted Jesus like an enraged woman. The 'heckling woman' like thief denigrated Jesus and pestered him to be more 'manly' by saving himself in order to prove his deity.
The two thieves on either side of the crucified Christ represent our flesh and spirit. One desires the pleasures of this world while the other the righteousness of God's kingdom in heaven. Our flesh is like a woman since a woman was created from the flesh of a man.
The flesh desires only one thing, to be God and/or to defy God, as Eve desired in the Garden of Eden. Which is exactly what the one thief on the cross next to Jesus demonstrated, and demanded of Jesus.
The pestering thief next to Christ on the cross was like David's wife, and Moses wife, and Job's wife, and Lot's wife, etc. taunting Jesus to be pleasure for the flesh instead of righteousness for God.
Throughout the life of Jesus Christ women are seen seeking out Jesus while Jesus is seeking out the men. Women had to seek out Jesus while Jesus went to the men. Even at the tomb Mary Magdalene sought out Jesus while Jesus appeared to all the disciples. This demarcation of gender is more evidence that our blurring of gender roles is not Godly!
Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and you'll be included in an existence with God the Father, God the son Jesus Christ, and God the holy Spirit, in heaven forever...just like the contrite thief being crucified next to Christ.
God Bless
