I'm not very good at making these type of things so please forgive me since I don't know an awful lot of scripture yet. This is just some of my thoughts and opinions on a story I read about David and (after looking it up what it actually meant) how he had so much pride that he actually started glorifying himself rather than glorifying the Lord and so I wondered how could somebody, especially a believer and follower get to that point? For Jesus said that one of the most important commandments is; "to love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind." Luke 10:27
I presume that means to put the Lord first in everything that we say and do. So what exactly does that mean? Well, first and foremost I believe that it's following His commandments, then I believe that it's devoting your time to Him in worship and prayer as well as reading and studying the Bible and living your life according to the way that He wants you too which is by loving your neighbors as well as your enemies and using your common sense. At least that's what it means to me.
The problem is that we don't always do these things even though they seem like really rather simple requests that the Father asks of us and we put other worldly things before the things that are written down for us in the Bible which includes our pride. I know for a fact that we are all sinners and that because of that reason God sent His only begotten Son that whoever shall believe upon His name will not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16.
So let us continue to glorify His name forever above anything else since He is the one who truly deserves it. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good thing to have pride, but when it becomes more important than glorifying the Lord that's when it becomes a problem. Again, this is just me speaking from my heart on this one.
