I was chatting online (alright I was roleplaying again lol) and the person that I was chatting with told me that our current roleplay was too meta? Lol, I guess I'm a little behind on my Internet lingo. Does anybody know what this means?

meta means self referral as you take on that of the character in role playing.
Other words you get to involved with being that character you are playing as you become that character within role playing.
No, I don't role play. When you are online role playing all the other person can see is what you type. Like say you are role playing Peter Pan. You would take on the character of Peter Pan and say the very things and do the very things he would do and say. It would make you sound like you were actually Peter pan as the other person reads what you type. It's like an actor playing the role of the character they are suppose to be in a movie or play.
Oh okay,.. thanks that makes more sense to me. So it's actually a good thing and I didn't figure that you were the kind of person to be roleplaying but I wasn't sure. I just couldn't picture you doing that.
Only role played when I was a kid.........................many years ago
We had our super heroes in the 50's and 60's that we pretended we were them as we acted out their characters.
Like - singing songs by Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins. I had a lot of difficulty being meta or too meta in emulating Dolly Parton.

I didn't realize Dolly plays a Martin. They make a VERY fine guitar, no wonder why she's so popular!
D28, that's a dreadnaught, right? I helped a friend trade one away because it was too big to play ... which about killed me but they wound up with something that served their hands better, and plays really well.
