Sounds like your dear wife put you up to it to go have them pierced!

You would think, but actually I got one ear pierced when I was in 7th grade, then I quit wearing my earring in high school. We met when I was 19. Around that time, I mentioned maybe getting the other one pierced and wearing earrings again. She was all for the idea, pierced my other ear, saw it, loved it - and the rest, as they say, is history. :biggrin

Actually I think it's a rather classy idea for husbands and wives both to have ear piercings.

Blessings.

@KayGraham1611 : Well, once yr bro has been needled for his Phil. 4.13 design he might be more confident to consider piercings, but this is up to him of course.
Yes, your dh seems like he's slightly into earrings and tattoos. Often if husbands and wives are into both earrings and tatts, it used to be that frequently it was the wife who was more into earrings than dh, and the husband was more into tatts than dw. But with you guys, seems like he's a bit less into both earrings and tatts than you are. This is nice, too, that you've kind of a bit taken the style lead, I guess. Blessings.

Happened to see your name pop up on this thread. You know, the fact is that some people are into it, and others never get into it. And I think this is fine.

You never know, one day, a really radical avant garde style for some women may be unmodified earlobes... Lots of things go full circle, don't they?

(Thoughts?)

Blessings.

Hi Atonement: Did you or do you ever wear earrings? (as well as being a tat guy!)

Blessings.

No that's never been my thing. I pierced my own ear when I was 15 and wore an earring for about 6 months. I stopped wearing it by the time I was 16.

KayGraham1611:

Yes, earrings are traditionally a good gift for a wife to receive.

But I do reckon that earrings are a great gift, too, from a wife to a husband, don't you think?

Blessings.

Well, after a long time, the holes sometimes close up. Sometimes they don't, though; sometimes rings/studs can still be put through. But not unusually they do close up after such a long period has elapsed.

Blessings.

PS: Atonement: Was wondering, did you ever have any specifically Christian jewelry/earring designs?

Blessings.

Oh yea theyll go back this is the 2nd time ive gauged them out...n they dnt weigh that much usually the only ones that weigh alot are the stone plugs

PS:

@KayGrahan1611:

Did you ever do it with stone plugs? or was it always with ones that weighed less, maybe?

Blessings.

I had an upside down cross - bad era for me (a lot more to that story - trust me)

Perhaps now the upside down cross can represent the cross of Peter, who was chose to be crucified upside down, not wanting to be crucified the same as Jesus. You know, that upside down cross was symbolic of being humble before Christ long, long, long before others decided to profane it.

This is very true however at that time it represented something more sinister. I rather not pollute my body with any piercings. I already have two tattoos and I like them and I have no regrets, but if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't put any tatts on my body! Just my opinion.

I can see where you're coming from. That's the main reason why I would never get a tattoo... too permanent. I don't find anything inherently sinful about them but, the reasons people get tatts today tend to be rather transitory and tatts are anything but.

Guys! @handy ; @Atonement :

You're back on the subject of tattoos again, which is really great! but how about putting tattoo material on the tattoo thread, rather than the holes one ... :)

(Not that it really matters; just a suggestion.)

Blessings.
