Col 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Col 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Now this scripture speaks of all the Church as the Elect. :)

What does this mean??

Does it mean that if they were included fully, will riches to the gentiles will be that much greater??
Hi Rob and welcome to CF.net. I hope you are blessed here in Jesus’ name. Could the following be what you're seeking?

Col 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Col 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Romans 11:
12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!

who is Paul talking about in this statement when he said their transgressions?

Dear Rob, I’m not quite sure the intent of what you’re asking, so I’ll just give a simple answer to start with. First understand that Romans Chapters 9, 10, & 11 are basically directed to Israel’s past, present, and future. What was Israel’s sin and loss? In Jeremiah 3:8 their backsliding resulted in a bill of divorce.

Now God was not done with them for Jesus came first to them and we read in John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

The following is certainly worthy of being a blessing to the Gentiles.

Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Someone else brought attention to this passage.

My intent is to search the scriptures.

There is a mystery within this particular passage.

If Paul said it, must be important

Why would you disregard it?

Not sure what brought that on; sorry. Why don't you just state what you think it's saying and see if we agree? I've only attempted to reply while not really knowing what you're asking. :biggrinunno

The Remnant?

Rev. 12:17 (what more are you searching for? This describes them to a T!)

[17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which [[keep the commandments of God,]] and have [[the testimony of Jesus Christ.]]

And as Isa. 5 documents this, (Isa. 5:1-3) we see that it takes both doctrine + Christ to be 'IN' Christ!

deborak13 mentioned Roman 11:12 I thought it was interesting
I wanted get your opinion on this verse

NIV translation:
Romans 11:
12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!
the Jews lost their inheritance, considered riches for the gentiles

“how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!”

What does this mean??

Does it mean that if they were included fully, will riches to the gentiles will be that much greater??

I don't see anyother explanation

What do you think of this perticular passage. who is the "they" Paul is talking about

If what do you determine is the inheritance?
What do you determine the riches are spoken of in this verse?

I believe this verse is speaking of spiritual riches, not land or material things.

I started looking at the prodigal son it a different light, thanks to another member. I started thinking that this story was deeper than what it appeared to be. I thought about back in the beginning and about who was who, to God.

There are too many sets of two, to be ignored. Cain and Abel, the first. God created them both and I believe that He loved them both. He tried to reason with Cain, only a loving God would do that.

So we have a father (God) with two sons. The younger son goes off into the pagan world (Gentiles). The older son stays with the father (Jews). How sad for the father, his family is divided. He watches and waits for the younger to return to him. The young son returns, the father is so happy he runs to him and kisses him.
He puts a robe (the robe of righteousness) on the young son and gives him a signet ring (seal). The older seeing this is angry, he refuses to enter his father's house. He stands outside, in self-righteousness. The celebration cannot be complete, the joy can't be full, and the father cannot be happy until his house is fully restored. But when the older brother walks in that door, oh what a celebration that will be!

@Rob G ,

Oh, about those spiritual riches....It would be a mistake to think that we have nothing to learn from our older brother. It's in the study of the OT, that so many things in the NT, come alive. Understanding of so many things we believe, the roots are in Jesus, seen in the OT.

Israel.

Rom 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election (Them belonging to God) hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
Rom 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear) unto this day.
BUT
Rom 11:15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

According to scripture, the Jews have been blind to God’s Will until something happens. The scriptures distinctly states there is fullness or a number of gentiles will come in. When this fullness or number is reached, then the next phase begins. Take special notice to the word until. Luke 21:24 mentions the Jews being trampled until the fulfillment of the gentile. (NIV

It hard not to notice the fullness or full of number gentiles implies a limit. It also implies that there is a magical number more than likely an exact number. When you fill a glass with water to its fullness it will run over. You cannot add another drop otherwise it overflows.

Romans 11:25

that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles become in KJV

Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in NIV

Luke 21:24

And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. NKJ

Without going into great detail necessitating a lengthy study, I will say that there are two events considering the Gentiles that will end at the same time. The first began with Times of the Gentile’s commencement in 606 BC with Babylon coming to power. The second, the fullness of the Gentiles being Act 15:14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name, and Romans 11:25 you mentioned: For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. The world remains under Gentile rule at this time but will end then. The Gentile nations will no longer rule, but will not want to give that authority to Christ and will continue in usurpation talking seven years to put down.

Both of these times will end simultaneously when Jesus takes His own throne in Revelation 4:2 which is the Lord’s Day's inauguration. Until this time, all authority and power was given to Jesus, but He had not taken it. Heb 2:8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

I very much agree

Except is there not a Millennial time for Christ to rule while Satan is bound

Exactly. I told you this was not an exhaustive study of the Lord's Day. I've got near 250 pages assigned to the subject, but when Jesus takes and executes the authority given Him, there are some saints with Him fully in accordance with His judgments that say in Rev 5:10 that will also reign with Him over the earth. Jesus Himself has the keys that lock Satan away for that thousand years of His rule during the millennium.

His rule during the millennium

Do you think Jesus will set up a physically Kingdom on this earth and rule over it for a litterial 1000 years? Why would he do that? I mean leave heaven and come back here to this sin cursed earth to give men ANOTHER chance or what?
Is he not ruling right now over his creation as God allmighty?
And is not his return to judge the world with Fire as he did so with water in the great flood? And to reward all his people with a glorified body to live and worship him foever. We can't do that is this flesh and blood body.

So if Christ is ruling right now at this moment. He comes back at the second advent to Judge His rulership with fire?

Was the Flood a judgement of His own rulership?

Is God making mistakes in His rulership on this planet? Or Has God Decreed a time for Satan to rule?

Do you think Jesus will set up a physically Kingdom on this earth and rule over it for a litterial 1000 years? Why would he do that? I mean leave heaven and come back here to this sin cursed earth to give men ANOTHER chance or what?
No I don’t think Jesus rules from the earth. Just as we have a president ruling from Washington, Jesus will rule from His throne Rev 4:2 in heaven as King of kings with His saints (Us). I will say that at that time He locks Satan away, and the earth will be a different beast as it were.

“Another chance?†God is a God of second chances as 1 Tim 2:4 tells us. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth, and the people set aside because of unbelief (Israel) until the times of the Gentiles be ended will be courted again.

Is he not ruling right now over his creation as God allmighty?
And is not his return to judge the world with Fire as he did so with water in the great flood? And to reward all his people with a glorified body to live and worship him forever. We can't do that is this flesh and blood body.
That will surely come to pass after the thousand years to them of the earth that are of the camp of the saints. Satan will be freed, gathers a great multitude and tries to destroy them before fire comes down from heaven and devours them. Rev 20:8-9.

1Cor 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

1Cor 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Brother josefnospam

Do we understand the mind ofGod, are you really questioning what God is doing and say this is not logical.

His thought not our thought,His way not out ways

Read this passage

Zechariah 14:

:1 Aday of the LORD is coming,

:9The LORD will be king over the whole earth.

:16Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go upyear after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate theFestival of Tabernacles.

This is all Future……

Now…. Do you still question,do you not believe the Word of God.

Brother no one can explainwhat God does or why He does it.

The answer is to read theBible and believe. our Logic has nothing to do with it.

I have read from the book TheLast Day, Robert Hern this time period does not concern Christians. They willbe with Christ after the Final Judgement.

You are correct it does notmake any sense to send Christians back if they have been washed by the blood…clean. But Christ is still King, He returns.

This book’s extensive studymakes it clear why and who will born again during this time period

It’s not the Christian.

This book’s extensive studymakes it clear why and who will born again during this time period

The only problem I have is the book you are refering to is not God's word. We "got" to go to the Bible to find truth............Always, every time
9The LORD will be king over the whole earth.

A simple question. Is not God king over the world right now? Does he rule his creation all the time? Who has or can remove him from his place?

I think we agree here. But not all who are on the earth believe in Him. The time will come when ALL will believe in him, but for the unsaved it will be too late because Now (Today) is the day of salvation.
