Math?
I have always hated math. All I know is that the one of our family vacations years ago was in Vancouver BC.It was expensive.I can not imagine now.Try figuring the difference between US and Canadian $$ when shopping cross-border...(I leave the math to my wife...) Blessings.

J, you and TOG are both correct. Also, it's ...I should HAVE paid more attention lol (sorry, but I AM an English teacher...couldn't resist)
Math is fun. I once saw the picture on the right below hanging on the wall in a school where I used to work. The text said that it was proof of the Pythagorean theorem, but it didn't explain how the picture proved the theorem.
Not content with just knowing that this picture proved the Pythagorean theorem, I went home that evening, got a pencil and paper, drew the picture and spent all evening figuring out why it proves it.
The TOG
Hm, kind of obvious, actually.
Both big squares are equal in size and they are made of 4 equally sized triangles. The rest of the area must be equal in size, too, in either square then. In the first the "rest" is the two leg squares, in the second one it's the hypothenuse square. And it's a proof of the theorem because you can draw such squares for every right angle triangle.
lol, its the mixture of le francais with the Germanic tounges of the anlgo-saxons and latin as well. Why do English speakers replace HAVE with OF anyway? Or THERE/THEY'RE with THEIR? Because it's shorter? But then some also replace OUR with ARE, and that's not shorter, it doesn't even sound alike. Kind of makes things harder for foreigners, too.
View attachment 4003I could have added variables to my explanation, too. Something like: for every right angle triangle with A and B being the leg side lenghts and C the hypothenuse side length a square with a side lengths A+B can be constructed for which we can show that its area (A+B)²... bla bla bla.
But since it is late in the evening for me, too, defining proper variables and constructing correct formulas wasn't something I felt like doing.
But if I did I bet I wouldn't need the entire evening.
(Sorry some twisted part of my brain things people will finally like me and be my friends if I compete with them enough. )
not me. it would use another means of execution. I think at work I destroy about 5 webs a day.I bet if the spider jumped up and crawled right into the barrel the guy/gal would drop it and run screaming.
Spiders have so much power over humans.
im not scared of spiders nor snakes. I will kill them if I feel the need to protect myself or family.if its a brown recluse, black widow , black recluse it dies. if its poisonious snake it dies too. I killed a coral snake a few months ago. blundegeons it head flat with my water rod.My weapon of choice would have to be a barrett m107 or similar long distance arm, because there's no way on God's green (and blue) earth i'd be getting that close to said eight legged hairy thing.
BTW Claudya when I returned, i was dismayed to see you still have the spider in your signature...darn thing gives me the heebs every time I see it.
