This is what it looks like except it is black.I poured pure bleach down the drain hopeing to get rid of it.Any ideas how to get rid of the thing?

They're probably Springtails. Clean the drain real good and treat it with vinegar. Pour a bunch of vinegar in the drain at night before going to bed and tape off the top of the drain so they can't get out. Do this a couple/few days in a row and they'll be gone. They feed off of the organic matter in drains and like the humidity.

Spray the bug spray down the drain...or some people dont like to use bug sprays .... try this...
Boil a pot of water carry it to the shower dump it down the drain.. or
if the cricket is coming out at night he might step on the fly paper and you can then toss him in the trash...

That sounds good Edward... vinegar is good for lots of stuff

TY reba. It would be good if we could positively identify the bug. That would help a lot. A lot of bugs will feed off the fungi and organic matter in the drain, and many will breed and lay eggs down there. That would be bad, and hot water alone would not stop the eggs and larvae. Something else would be needed.

Whatever kind of bugs they are, the humidity in the drain and food (fungi and organic matter) are what's drawing them there. That's a good place to start, clean the drain good. Some drain cleaner perhaps or baking soda and vinegar, then follow up with...a bottle brush like for cleaning baby bottles to break up the slime and stuff and a good rinsing.

Yet among the winged insects that go on all fours you may eat those that have jointed legs above their feet, with which to hop on the ground. Of them you may eat: the locust of any kind, the bald locust of any kind, the cricket of any kind, and the grasshopper of any kind. (Lev. 11:21-22 ESV)
Catch it, rinse it, fry it and eat it.

Eating it would be better than using poison like you suggested and letting it go to waste.
