If I believed in luck wow I would have had such luck yesterday as our sermon related very much to this subject. How The Lord will put us through tribulation to mould us through it. It was an amazing sermon considering these things were very much in my thoughts.
I'm the same but as it says in scripture iron sharpens iron and I think it is good to discuss these things and hear other people's points of view and it then leads you to consult scripture.
I do see your point, I suppose I still differ slightly as I believe that when we sin. The tribulation we suffer from our sin (the fruits) is our punishment, but The Lord will work that to his good and for his glory.
Hi kiwidan
I don't believe you need to be baptised to be saved but The Lord commands to acts of obedience from us.
1. Baptism
2. Remembering our Lord Jesus in his own appointed way by the breaking of bread.
So if you truly believe you will want to obey The Lord and partake in each of these...
No that's not what I'm saying it is impossible for us not to sin what I am saying and I should have wrote it better is the reason we should try and not sin is for the love of The Lord.
Well it depends why you choose not to sin. As we are saved by The Lord Jesus Christ we have no reason to fear death but it should be our love for God that stops us sinning.
I agree that the bad things that happen are because of a fallen world. Though I think we have to remember The Lord is sovereign in everything. This means that he has control over the bad as well as the good and his permissive will allows these bad things to happen for our good.
But it does say in Romans as I stated ALL (emphasis mine) things work together for good to those who love God. So again I disagree all things are for a great purpose and all are the Lords will.
Hi Mountain Man
I disagree. Although its hard I firmly believe that when bad things are happening to us it is Gods way of teaching us something or his way of leading us to something that is better for us.
I see your point there but would this not be Gods providence.
Romans 8:28
28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose
I just hope you don't think I'm always trying to put you down as I'm not I'm just putting...
