he is talking pills not heroine! the oxy family of legal opiods aren't smoked. that would be rather hard to do.my states two highest abused drugs are zanax/Zoloft, and oxycontin and its variants. cocaine isn't even on the top five, mj not even on the top 10.
Go to YouTube and do search on "Smoking Oxycontin".
you tube isn't a reliable source of info at times. google this for case in point.Thank you for making my point.

That's how my daughter died January 14, 2014.I haven't heard that smoking opiates is very common, but speed balling (a combination of an opiate and a stimulant like meth) might be.
I'm sorry Stovebolts, lets put our heads together and find an effective way to save addicts. I am going to see if there is a digital copy of that book on the internet for starters. I couldn't hurt for me to to read it.That's how my daughter died January 14, 2014.
Gary,Okay.
Here's what the DEA has to say regarding opium. Notice the 1st method of use.
Methods of abuse
Opium can be smoked, intravenously injected, or taken in pill form. Opium is also abused in combination with other
drugs. For example, “Black” is a combination of marijuana, opium, and methamphetamine, and “Buddha” is potent
marijuana spiked with opium.

I grew up in that world and I'm here to tell you, a doper will smoke anything. I've seen it, I've done it. It's as common as putting gasoline in a vehicle.

I've been praying and trying to figure out a way for several years. When I lost my brother, I was too emotionally frozen to continue thinking how to help addicts. When I lost my daughter, I promised I would not give up what God put on my heart many, many years ago.I'm sorry Stovebolts, lets put our heads together and find an effective way to save addicts. Choice... For some, its complicated. For an addict in recovery, choice is fundamental. A gal I know puts it this way. I simply don't open that door. I shut out all those old thoughts.
I really wish you wouldn't be so niave and bullheaded. You made your point many times. How many more times do we have to tolerate your argument? Obviously we disagree. So please, be respectful and loose the attitude. Its really getting old and is doing nothing in terms of changing my mind.If addiction were a disease, choice would play no part in it. The million-plus people who were diagnosed with cancer last year didn't choose to have cancer, but I guarantee you that every addict in this country didn't become an addict until they first put that drug in their body. Had the addict never touched drugs, whether it be prescription or illegal, they would not have become an addict.
Your gal pal even says, "I simply don't.....I shut out...". In order for your friend to recover from drug addiction, she needs to leave the drugs alone. People with cancer don't have that option. Once you have cancer, you can't cause the disease to subside by simply abstaining from an activity. Leave the cancer alone and it will grow to the point of actually killing you. Leave the drug alone and the addiction subsides until the cravings eventually disappear.
The only reason addiction is labeled a disease is to procure funds. It's that simple.

can you show me that we aren't sinners without the need to show me the sin first? we all sin, some will sin in one way and another way for another person. while drugs has never had any power nor hold over me nor would it . I have been one the outside of social interactions and while im not immune to peer pressure. I figured if I must used drugs to be cool then I must have a problem . so I decided when I hit to the lowest point of my life prior to the cross to try jesus and that is what I did pray.(though worded differently). for you gay urges is likely foreign to you. I had my first urge at age 10. never touched, kissed any boy nor was a I raped. it just was there. can it be the same with some drugs? some have the disposition to have it and unknown to them until it happens that they feed it and trigger it.Okay, let's do this. You show me some recorded cases where people have become addicted to opiates without ever coming in contact with opiates. Can you do that?
.
I am not so sure, Gary. I want to agree - but I have seen it in my own brother. The only reason addiction is labeled a disease is to procure funds. It's that simple.
