Hi everyone

I guess you could say I'm a bit of a mixed up Christian in many ways. I had a rather off-putting experience with churches when I was young, but in recent years I have come back to a very real relationship with Jesus. However, I tend to be very cautious and like to think and study things through carefully before accepting what any person or church teaches me. I also have other issues which make it difficult for me to commit to any of the churches I have attended recently. On the other hand, I feel hungry for Christian fellowship; just to be with other people who say, yes, God is great. So maybe an online forum is a good starting place.

Hi dear Granny in Jesus' name. Approaching all you hear by the word is a good thing, and I'm sure we're going to enjoy your fellowship among us. Welcome..

Hi Granny, welcome to CF.net. I'm sure you will like the variety of folk here. There are lots of topics that might interest you so jump right in and make yourself at home. I can appreciate your caution with churches these days. I started being a pastor of Baptist churches in 1976 to 1990. I decided that the best way to avoid giving my opinions on Scriptural issues, I would preach/teach thru the books of the Bible, verse by verse, line upon line in context. That way people in the churches that I was their pastor knew what the Bible taught, not the pastor.

If you find a church that teaches that way, you can be fairly confident that you will get Truth, especially if you study yourself what is being taught.

Again, welcome, you are amongst the finest Christians anywhere. :hug

Welcome to Christian Forums, Granny J. I think all churches are infected with some pride, which makes it possible to have some bad experiences there. But I get a whole lot of support at my church, also. Maybe a good way to look at it is that we should become part of a church to set a good example for the others, not that we don't have some sin, also.

A warm welcome to you.
I'm sure you will find these forums as a wonderful stating platform. There is a wide variety of people here as Chopper said, so enjoy. :wave
