I only text now. Haven't been able to hear on the phone for some time, but just yesterday I got a cochlear implant! So there is a good chance that I will be able to hear on the phone again. I have to wait a while before I can have the implant activated and right now I am completely deaf. My left ear was already deaf and I had somewhere around 20% hearing in my right. The wire of the cochlear implant destroys the remaining hair follicles in most people. What is interesting is that I have noticed in the last 24 hours that I still hear peoples voices when watching tv with captions on and the volume is muted. Right now I am watching Ted Cruz talk and reading the captions and I can hear him and Sean Hannity because my brain remembers their voices. Several times today I have forgotten that I am deaf until I speak cause I can't hear my own voice. I do the same for my wife and kids when I read their lips (I can think of their voices).
I'm practically glued to my computer and mobile devices, but if I'm with friends it seems like there is something more interesting to do than wait around on the internet waiting for something interesting to come up.
