I love this post. As a Godly person this is what I live my life by everyday. It is not easy being in the flesh sometimes but this is the path we have to take to get in his kingdom. There is going to be trials and tribulations but he will deliver you through it all.

And by looking at the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:3-17), we can judge our own progress, spiritually.
If our heart does not condemn us, in regards to God's standard of Righteousness, then we can then know, we are at one, with God's will.

Faith is what it takes to receive the grace to be saved. Not just faith but faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross for our sins.

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Jesus died for our sins. Moses lifted up the image of a fiery serpent in the wilderness and those Hebrews who looked upon it lived.

Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Numbers 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

Moses a type of Christ prayed for the sins of the people.

Numbers 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

Numbers 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

Those who look to Jesus for Salvation shall be saved from the penalty of sin. Eternal damnation. Death.

It is not just mere mental assent that Jesus died for our sins but a saving faith. After all the truth must be "received with love".

2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Satan knows the truth but he hates it. Satan knows who Christ is and what our Saviour has done for us.

It is that type of saving faith that will save us.

Belief, belief, belief...

Acts 15:10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Acts 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Acts 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Acts 16:34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

The Philipian Jailer heard the gospel and was saved.

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1 Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The entire Old Testament sacrifice points to the fact that Jesus would bear the sins of the world and that those people who placed their faith in Him and acknowledged their sinful state and need for a Saviour would have salvation.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Receiving Christ gives us the power to become a son of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Believing on Christ is doing the works of God...

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Jesus is the sin bearer and through faith in Him we have life everlasting.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

We must have faith in Him and His name to be saved.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Amen! :biggrin

Maribel,

I would encourage you to read the posts in this thread and see what you think.

Please keep this thread on topic. It is about the gospel. In my opinion it is the most important thread in this entire forum.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

At your service,

If you would stop deficating on the Roman Catholic Church, I would consider most anything.

If you would get somebody to unsubscribe me from this forum, I would be out of you hair forever because I don't care if I ever run into you ever again and that would be too soon.

We are not responsible for your lack of self control. You need to drop this personal vendetta against BB. He never once attacked you. :-?

All I want to be is unsubscribed and he said I was not a Christian and that is not nice. And he did say that. You can sugar coat it all you like. All of you are feeding his need to deficate somewhere and the Catholic Church is it.

The vendetta was simply to get unsubscribed which they won't do. It would be so simple. So I have to fight with myself everyday to stay from here because you won't unsubscribe me. That is all I am asking.

But it doesn't work that way. The Christian thing to do is just walk away.

Also, you accomplish nothing by changing your name.

Maybe if you have an addiction to this forum, you should go talk to your priest.

I did not change my name. I flipped my fingers haphazardly so I wouldn't be able to get back in. And I couldn't. Then I realized that I am beaten by forums no matter what I do because all I had to do was come in and copy what I put there. And I didn't intend to do that until I saw your comment. And in a very unChristian manner, you assumed I was being sneaky and changing my name. Even I, in all my stupid nonChristian ways know that that wouldn't word. You think I am even stupider than you originally thought.

The Christian thing to do is walk away eh. And I suppose it is the Christian thing to do to refuse to unsubscribe me. You guys can talk your way out of anything. You rule the world in your little forum.

I just came back to see what comments there might be. So you guys can refuse to unsubscribe me in a very unChristian manner and I will walk away. And you call me un Christian. Strange values.

Four Things God Wants You to Know
To actually limit God to only 4 things, HE wants us to know, is absolutely foolish.....as the Bible reveals dozens of things that need correcting, in our walk with the Lord.
Simply look at the 10 commandments by themselves.

There are not just 4 of them, but 10.....10 which cover every aspect of human behavior.

The 10 commandments is God very standard of Righteousness (Right-doing).

Salvation is impossible.....without understand 'WHAT' we are being 'saved' from.

If one were to think for a moment.......SIN...is the factor God wants everyone to understand absolutely !

Without a Biblical understanding of what the Bible defines as sin.....How can one be saved ?

Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED

By C. H. Spurgeon

It is by the grace of God that ungodly men are preserved instant death. The sharp axe of justice would soon fell the barren tree if the interceding voice of Jesus did not cry, "Spare him yet a little." Many sinners, when converted to God, have gratefully acknowledged that it was of the Lord's mercy that they were not consumed.

John Bunyan had three memorable escapes before his conversion, and mentions them in his "Grace Abounding" as illustrious instances of long-suffering mercy. Occasionally such deliverances are made the means of affecting the heart with tender emotions of love to God, and grief for having offended him. Should it not be so? Ought we not to account that the longsuffering of God is salvation? (2 Peter 3:15.)

An officer during a battle was struck by a nearly spent ball near his waistcoat pocket, but he remained uninjured, for a piece of silver stopped the progress of the deadly missile. The coin was marked at the words DEI GRATIA (by the grace of God). This providential circumstance deeply impressed his mind, and led him to read a tract which a godly sister had given him when leaving home. God blessed the reading of the tract, and he became, through the rich grace of God, a believer in the Lord Jesus.

Reader, are you unsaved? Have you experienced any noteworthy deliverances? Then adore and admire the free grace of God, and pray that it may lead you to repentance! Are you enquiring for the way of life. Remember the words DEI GRATIA, and never forget that by grace we are saved. Grace always pre-supposes unworthiness in its object.

The province of grace ceases where merit begins: what a cheering word is this to those of you who have no worth, no merit, no goodness whatever! Crimea are forgiven, and follies are cured by our Redeemer out of mere free favour. The word grace has the same meaning as our common term gratis: Wickliffe's prayer was, "Lord save Memphis." No works can purchase or procure salvation, but the heavenly Father giveth freely, and upbraideth not.

Grace comes to us through faith in Jesus. Whosoever believeth on Him is not condemned. O, sinner, may God give thee grace to look to Jesus and live. Look now, for to-day is the accepted time!

Heb 12:2

Charles Spurgeon

"Looking unto Jesus."
Hebrews 12:2

It is ever the Holy Spirit's work to turn our eyes away from self to Jesus; but Satan's work is just the opposite of this, for he is constantly trying to make us regard ourselves instead of Christ. He insinuates, "Your sins are too great for pardon; you have no faith; you do not repent enough; you will never be able to continue to the end; you have not the joy of His children; you have such a wavering hold of Jesus." All these are thoughts about self, and we shall never find comfort or assurance by looking within. But the Holy Spirit turns our eyes entirely away from self: He tells us that we are nothing, but that "Christ is all in all."

Remember, therefore, it is not thy hold of Christ that saves thee--it is Christ; it is not thy joy in Christ that saves thee--it is Christ; it is not even faith in Christ, though that be the instrument--it is Christ's blood and merits; therefore, look not so much to thy hand with which thou art grasping Christ, as to Christ; look not to thy hope, but to Jesus, the source of thy hope; look not to thy faith, but to Jesus, the author and finisher of thy faith.

We shall never find happiness by looking at our prayers, our doings, or our feelings; it is what Jesus is, not what we are, that gives rest to the soul. If we would at once overcome Satan and have peace with God, it must be by "looking unto Jesus." Keep thine eye simply on Him; let His death, His sufferings, His merits, His glories, His intercession, be fresh upon thy mind; when thou wakest in the morning look to Him; when thou liest down at night look to Him. Oh! let not thy hopes or fears come between thee and Jesus; follow hard after Him, and He will never fail thee.

"My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesu's blood and righteousness:
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesu's name."

Herein Is Love

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Please take a moment to consider the love of God which is manifested in the person of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. God sent His Son into the world to be your Saviour from sin. God gave His Son to die upon the Cross and to shed His blood that you need not perish. God offers you forgiveness of sins and everlasting life through His Son.

Herein is love! But many choose not to receive God's love, and reject His gift of everlasting life through faith in Jesus Christ. Yet apart from the life which God offers you in His Son, you are dead in trespasses and sins and shall die, for "all have sinned" and the "wages of sin is death." (Romans 3:23; 6:23) For the same God who says, "he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life," also says that "he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)

Be not deceived. You do not earn salvation by "good" conduct, membership in any organization, adherence to any creed, or by any ritual or sacrament. Salvation is a free gift of God which you receive through personal faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8,9) Jesus Christ is "the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6) No one comes to God but by Him. No one knows the truth apart from Him. No one has life except through Him. Won't you believe this in your heart and call upon the Lord Jesus to save you? For "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

God in His love and grace offers you salvation from sin and death. Your response to God determines whether you will spend eternity in heaven or in hell. Have you believed God and received His love through faith in Jesus Christ? If not, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Saviour, and you shall be saved from sin and death and have everlasting life.

--Stephen Ross

Jesus Died Your Soul To Save

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Jesus died your soul to save;
For your life He freely gave
All He had in heaven above,
Just to show His wondrous love.

Wondrous love so rich, so free--
Can it truly be for me?
Yes, dear friend, 'tis true, 'tis true,
All Christ did, He did for you.

--Jennifer R. Leaf

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Acts 16:31

Yes Vic, But it does not say those people are saved, does it ?

To be saved, as in 'born-again'....one needs the word of God:
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, [by the word of God], which liveth and abideth for ever.
Why is this so true ?
Psalms 19:7 "The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple".
Although the Law of God does not actually save anyone.....it reveals what sin is.
And, without knowledge of sin, the sinner feels no need of a Savior.

So, in essence, the 10 commandments merely points our wrongs, so that we can ask Jesus Christ to forgive us our wrongs and help us to never cimmit sin again, which the power of Jesus Christ can do for us, as He promised !

Without knowledge of what the Law says......
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee......seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God".

And, that is exactly what satan has accomplished, with the Christian world in general (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

1. All have sinned, and are separated from God. That means if you consider yourself a "good" person before God, you aren't ready to be saved. Every one of us has broken at least one of God's ten commandments. Therefore, we are all sinners.

Romans 3:10, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one."

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Isaiah 64:6, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags."

2. The price for sin is death and hell. The consequence of our sin is eternal separation from a righteous and holy God.

Romans 6:23a, "For the wages of sin is death."

Revelation 21:8, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

3. The good news is: Jesus paid the sin debt for all who will place the trust in Him as Savior. Notice in Revelation 21:8 above it refers to the unbelieving. The greatest sin of all is rejecting Christ, the blameless, Lamb of God Who suffered on a cross to pay our sin debt that we could not pay.

Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Romans 5:8-10, "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life."

4. Call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. Do you see yourself as a sinner? Do you understand how a sinless One could take the place of the one (you and me) condemned because of our guilt? Are you willing to make Jesus the Lord of your life, and do you desire to live for Him?

Romans 10:9-10, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast

What Jesus told Paul on the road to Damascus.

Acts 26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

Acts 26:17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Do you want eternal life?

Have you considered this?
