I have begun reading a book by John Ortberg titled “God Is Closer Than You Thinkâ€Â. In the first chapter of this book, he talks about how much it is God’s desire to be close to us, and al we have to do is reach out and take God’s hand.
For so many of us, it is the reaching out part that causes us to flop around on our faces. Sure, we can reach out when we need or want something from God. But, it is so hard to reach out when things are going ok for us. We need to come to the realization that we need God whether things are going good or bad in our lives. Once we realize that, our spiritual lives will begin to become enriched as we come into a closer realationship with our Heavenly Father.
