so grateful to have found a home in my church, and grateful to finally be reading the bible, it's never too late

Personally, I wouldn't think it fair only to read the Bible or the God Delusion, if you were to get into religion. I would read both, so that I could know both sides. I would read accounts of Jesus Christ and Thomas Paine's assertions against the authenticity of those accounts. That's what I do for political matters, and such actions have helped me to formulate and change my ideas, so that I know that those ideals are what is best for me and are what I truly believe.
