Learned a little about pop art when studying art history. Some of it seems interesting.

questdriven:

Your manipulation of the images of the photos reminded me of pop art, anyway. If musically you're inclined towards hard rock and artistically pop art is of interest, too, then maybe the rock and pop aesthetic is kind of expressive of you in some ways, anyway, I suppose. Blessings.

I like some pop art, but I'm not sure I like pop art as a whole. It can be interesting, sometimes. I can see how my photo manip looks like pop art. I thought the effects looked cool.

When it comes to art styles, I quite like Impressionism and this shows up on my own style to some degree. I like art that is more or less based on real life, or fantasy. I find it to be the most relatable.

Art that is like just splashes of color or based on primitive art, I don't like. (Primitive art doesn't take much talent. It's like drawing stick figures.)

Well, this is all very interesting, anyway. Have you looked at and thought about Expressionism as well as Impressionism? I think Pop Art emerged more from Expressionism (as well as from other influences) than Impressionism, even though there are similarities.

Blessings.

I'm not a fan of Expressionism. Just looks bizarre to me.

Impressionism is, more or less, about capturing something quickly. It paints a definite and eligible picture, but doesn't have the fine details.

questdriven: Interesting; and you seem to have thought a lot about it, anyway. Kokoschka (if this is correct) is an Expressionist artist that I quite like, anyway. Blessings.

Gimp is great software. Filters > edge detect > edge is fun to play with.

By Him all things were created creation songs by Buddy Davis.

Cassette tapes = Nostalgia.

Funnily enough, the least 'realistic' of the photo exposures also looks the most artistic (if this makes any sense...).

Blessings.
