Israel is the Church

Israel is the Christian Church. The Christian Church is Israel. The Christian Church does not replace Israel, it is Israel and always has been Israel. The New Testament writings reveal clearly that there is only one Israel, only one Church, only one elect whether Jew or Gentile by birth. It is impossible to cut a straight course in the Word of truth until we grasp the concept that there is only one Israel of God.

The church is comprised of the people of faith--those who walk in the (called out) footsteps of faith that Abraham walked in--from both, the gentiles, and the literal nation of Israel. It has nothing to do with what flesh you were born after:

"...they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; 7 nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants... 8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise (those who are born again through faith in the promise, Jew or gentile) are regarded as descendants (of Abraham and in line for the inheritance). " (Romans 9: 6-8 NASB parenthesis mine)

"...so that in Himself He might make the two (Jew and gentile) into one new man... 16 and might reconcile them both in one (new) body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity (between the two old groups, Jew and gentile). 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were far away (gentiles), and peace to those who were near (Jews)..." (Ephesians 2:15-17 NASB parenthesis mine)

The true church, and body, and household of Christ, the inheritor of Abraham's promises, is composed of all of those people among the Jews and the gentiles who have faith in Jesus Christ. Together they comprise the the 'one new man' formed from among the Jews and the gentiles.

IOW, the true church is the body of Jesus Christ, comprised of all the Jews and gentiles who believe in Christ. Jesus is the nation, and kingdom of God's people. Everyone who believes becomes a part and a member of that nation, and kingdom of God's people. Faith is what determines who the Church is, not natural heritage.
