A liar is someone who is untrustworthy.
A liar has no respect for others, thus they will never receive any respect.
"A person is only as good as their word".
A liars' words are no good.
When someone does not lie, they find they don't want to be around someone who does.
So the company a liar keeps is usually not good.

16 There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil,
19 A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.
Proverbs 6:16-19 NASB

One of my biggest temptations, has to do with wanting to protect someone from the truth that i know is going to burn up their world, and perhaps ruin their lives, if i tell them.
My Bible tells me that im always to be honest, but my real world perspective tells me that lying to protect someone, certainly is easier for me to deal with then telling them a truth that destroys their life.
