This may not be the right spot for this.
But what is the general feeling of a Church leader who thinks it's akin to idol worship to in any way honor the fallen or ex-military on the Sunday closest to Memorial day or the 4th of July, yet still does Mothers/Fathers day programs and a High School Graduation day program. It would seem to me that if it's idol worship to honor one, then it's idol worship for the others also.
