Oximorons:
They say that smoking causes cancer,
But when have they ever enforced an answer?
They say we are killing ourselves by what we eat,
But do the the companies responsible ever retreat?
They say that teens should stay pure,
But what dose the media think of this cure?
They say that our planet is dying in vain,
But who actually cares about this campaign?
They say that the government is taking control,
But do we fight back instead of hiding in a hole?
They say that abortion can be good for any mother,
But do they even care about how she suffers?
They say there are many who are sick and poor,
But what do we spend our money on; who do we ignore?
They say that we need to take action,
But what are THEY doing to cause a reaction?
Contemplations of the Soul:
Oh please don't return my feelings of love and sincerity
With your feelings of hate and complacency
But then again with patronizing sadness
I must confess my need for such disdained madness
For my heart's thirst will not be satisfied
Until the blood of my enemy has been gratified
For my opposition is painful all the same
As it is I in that damning cage called blame
But can the foe of another
Be tucked safely with his damning brother?
No for it shall surely destroy us unitedly
Because neither of us alone can bleed
Time:
It's not how I thought this life would be,
It's funny how people want consistency.
For years upon years the trend hasn't broken,
and I mistakenly thought friendship was more than a token.
It's not how I planned this life would last,
It's looking at the world and seeing contrast.
For hours upon hours and days upon days,
I realize now that it wasn't just a phase.
It's not how I knew this life would turn,
It's hoping for more than being able to learn.
For minutes and seconds I thought I knew,
But then again I had no clue.
As days go by and people grow
I finally understand and now I know,
That people never change, and like spring and fall,
They turn different colors and die like all.
I write poetry often and I have many many more poems but here are just a few..tell me what you think
