Thank You Jesus!!!!

My dad went to the specialist today and the cancer was caught very early and confined only to one side of his prostate! He's going to have surgery to have it taken out. He had other options, but he wants to take the drastic one so he won't have to worry about it coming back.

Anyways, I just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and support. He has to call Monday to set up the date for the surgery. Hopefully they can get him in soon.

I'm just so happy. You know, I was thinking tonight that I'm beginning to understand why so many "bad" things happen to people. Everyone (including myself) asks "WHY" so many times when something bad happens or goes wrong. Ever since my dad was diagnosed, he's prayed to God more than he has in a long time and same with everyone else that I know. Maybe...just maybe...God does these things to remind us to turn to him in times of need and so he can prove to us that he CAN do miracles! Maybe it's not a miracle, but to me it is.

I'm just so happy right now! I've always been close to my dad, but as I've gotten older, I've felt more distant from him. From now on, I'll make sure to sit and listen to his corny jokes and watch him get all excited over things that he's discovered on the computer that I've already known since I was a teenager and that's really not that neat, but he thinks it is...LOL. And I'll hug him more and tell him I love him.

Just an update

My dad has his surgery to remove the cancer on March 9th. He's going insane having to wait. He just hates the thought that cancer is in his body and he wants it out NOW. Hopefully things will go very smooth. He opted to go ahead and have his entire prostate removed. The cancer was only on one side luckily and he could have had chemo or other options, but decided that he just wants to take the drastic measure so he won't have any more worries.

Lord I lift Nikki's Dad up to You. May the surgeons, anathesitists and techs and all involved be anointed for the operation. Thank You Lord. May his stay in hospital be painless both physically and mentally. And restore him whole and healthy to his family.
