uh. so is bible study to a degree at first. that is how you learn the bible.

i have a problem with this. while its true that some indoctrination occurs but then agian any teaching of sorts is just that.

but first i will let you digest what i said.

Where has our collective creativity gone? Sir Ken Robinson may well say that it is being trained out of us by our schools. I like this video (although I don't agree with all of it).

I don't think its just k-12 (although it is pretty bad in k-12). The universities, even some of the Christian ones, teach more "self-growth" than they do actual core competencies. One reason I'm afraid to go back to school (somewhat, its not crippling) now that I'm largely recovered from my madness is that I just won't "fit in" in an environment in which adoring, impressionable young adults absorb information and politics ("expanding their horizons") from a narcissistic, over-educated and underpaid instructor. I really just want to get my needed skills and move on.

It's been going on since Dewey.

He reformed education in the United States in the Progressive Era, and that's exactly what his system is, a throw-back to progressive thinking. He through out the old means of education and instituted a "factor line" type system of educating people. Now it took a while for this to come to pass, but today it is almost a universal system (and I do mean at a global level!).

How many one-room school houses do you see today? Exactly.

Now go ask your parents/grandparents how they were educated, chance are it was in a one room schoolhouse, or at the very least it was not divided by graces/ages. If we turn back to the various primers that were used in those days and compare them to the textbooks of today, you will notice how different the Webster system (Noah Webster) and the Dewey (Dewey, the decimal man) system truly are.

And CE is right. It's in the post-secondary schools also, though trade and vocation schools seem to be lacking this. It's why I cannot wait to leave college and it's why I'd rather skip on the BS (not the swear, Reba ) and stick with my AS. I cannot stand school. I love learning, but not school.

If you are worried about your children being indoctinated aganist Christian values in school homeschool. We homeschooled our son all through school.
