That video is so touching.
On the one had the internet and all the social media give us access to people we wouldn't ever meet in real life. I'm really glad and thankful I met you.
Smart phones are incredibly helpfull if you need some information (like bus schedules or phone numbers) while not at home. Or even for taking spontaneous pictures when something awesome comes your way.
On the other hand many of us miss out on real life because of their focusing on their phone all day long. Many of us have outsourced their knowledge. They rather use google instead of their brains.
Kids today may grow up thinking that "friend" is a virtual connection on facebook rather than a person you are emotionally bonded with.
My city has a good network of public transportation, so I travel by bus and tram a lot. I swear, 85% or more of the people you see in public transportation spend the entire ride staring at their phone or listening to music (okay I'm guilty of the latter, too). They are like media zombies.
