Looks like it is a search engine that claims to be ultra secure for people who feel like they're being watched by the government. I feel bad for the guy who's been assigned my name. You remember that scene from Airplane where different people sit next to they guy who's boring them into different forms of suicide? My guy has probably been replaced 30 times or more. Hopefully they just resign their position and go do something else. Maybe they're listening to me randomly sing obscure lines from songs in my car.

It does claim to stop government snooping but I seriously doubt it can stop that. I think it can and does stop corporate snooping. The search engine did have a live chat question/answer with Snowden as the guest...I missed it.....bleh

Same group that makes startpage.com and I've been mentioning it for years. Many people live in a computer age 10-15 years ago yet so this sounds new to them.

I thought I might just share some of my latest experiences (tonight's) with Pale moon and start page.
My sister sent me an email discussing her meds and Addington disease. Being very not medical literate I tried to bone up on it.
Since, at I understand it start page uses google but just withholds your ip address, then relays the search results to you, you should be free of pesky web sites wanting to sell you anything from a peanut butter sandwich to a holiday resort on the moon. So how does google respond to this?
I was led on a merry chase and got nowhere fast. every time I would click on a likely url, I just got the same page (or similar) of links, but could not actually connect with a site discussing the topic.
I changed to 'DuckDuckGo' and bingo I got onto a web site with helpful info straight away.
So yes, start page is good...I like it, but I believe it necessary to bypass google as the default start page search engine.
Has anyone else encountered what seems to be google spite?
