I have been crying all night long,

Because I was never there for you,

Because I was off chasing the devils tail,

Because I ran away from all my responsibilities

Because I didn't know how to love you right,

Because I have lost your mother for good,

Because I didn't get help back in 1992,

Because my fears have almost all come true,

Because I didn't listen to god before you were born.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints.
Other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life
When I was suffering from anguish, sorrow, or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord, "You promised me, Lord,
That if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
There have only been one set of prints in the sand.
Why, When I have needed you most, you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have seen only one set of footprints
Is when I carried you."

I'm a lonely sojourner in a land that use to be, but is no more to me.

I am fearful of my predators, but protected by my Lord.

Shall I speak with words of kindness to the faces I never see or walk in tolerance of the ignorance of those who be.

I know who I am and that's all I need as the rest of this world in ignorance will be.

When the moon gives up its light and the days grow dark then my Savior will rescue this sojourning Lark.


I wrote this one day as I was reflecting on my life journey here on this earth and all the many things I have faced so far in this life. I look back at where I use to be many years ago and compared to where I am now and it just amazes me how God can love so unconditionally. If not for Gods mercy and grace there would be no hope for any of us who struggle through this walk here on Earth. The victory truly does belong to the Lord who has made us more than conquerors.

Chicxulub (Mayan pronunciation: [tʃʼikʃuluɓ]) is a town, and surrounding municipality of the same name, in the Mexican state of Yucatán.

At the census of 2005, the town had a population of 5,052 people.

Chicxulub is most famous for being near the geographic center of the Chicxulub crater, an impact crater discovered by geologists on the Yucatán Peninsula and extending into the ocean. It was created by the impact some 66 million years ago of the Chicxulub impactor, an asteroid or comet which may have caused the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event, which led to the demise of the dinosaurs. The coastal village (or puerto) of Chicxulub, 6 km east of the nearest town, Progreso, lies almost exactly on the geographic center of the crater.

The name Chicxulub is Yucatec Maya language, where ch’ic means "flea" or "tick", and xulub’ means "devil, demon, or horns".[1]
