"And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord." 1 Samuel 15:20

Saul in this account is someone who has adjusted the terms of obedience. Saul said, "I have obeyed the voice of the Lord," even though he had spared King Agag and the best of the animals. In God's sight partial obedience is disobedience. God said it was rebellion and stubbornness.

Many Christians do the same thing. We interpret our obedience according to human reasoning. We treat stop signs as yield signs because the police are not always watching us.

Jesus is always watching us however. He knows if we are being obedient to His commandments and obeying Him by living the life that we should live.

Are you obeying Him now or are you like Saul? Are you adjusting the terms of obedience?

Just like Saul in his disobedience God knows our heart and the intents of it. Are we truly hearing that of Gods voice or like Saul are we hearing that of a familiar spirit. God is the final judge in all things of obedience and disobedience that is found in us.
