Clicked on the link to the New York Post article at the end of the Fox News story. The researchers that developed this antibody just got a $20 million grant to move forward with their research. This will be a blow to the conspiracy theorists who have been saying for years that the lack of a cancer cure is a medical industry scam.
So far, researchers have used the antibody in mice with human breast, ovary, colon, bladder, brain, liver and prostate tumors transplanted into them. In each of the cases the antibody forced the mice's immune system to kill the cancer cells.
'Cause it was broken by News Corp outlets The New York Post and Fox News. The other media automatically ban anything that appears first in a News Corp franchise. Can't stand that they're better at reporting than the liberal media is.

Well until now they just found a cure for mice suffering from transplanted human cancer. There's reason to hope, but it's much too early in the developmental stage to apply that stuff to humans. At this point the method they are testing might still turn out a failure. Even if all goes well and they found a cure a lot of people suffering from cancer now will still die from cancer before a reliable medication is developed from these promising first results because all the developement and testing may take a few more years.
So if they'd be all over the press right now they might stir a lot of false hope and cause a lot of painfull disappointment.
From what they are saying, I don't like the way it works (e.g. healthy cells can be affected), plus, it deals with the symptom of the tumor, not the mechanism behind cancer. That's like saying you won't get breast cancer just because some women lop them off. Then the cancer just starts elsewhere. What I am saying is the cancer will be gone if this medicine works, and then it will just come back over and over and over again, probably worse each time. I'm sceptical.
