Kill all Americans!
Shoot them in the head!!
Kick her culture out the window!!!
The greatness of America is like filthy rag!!!
Destroy America!!!! :bigfrown

Why America?:biggrinunno
Why always America??:shrug
What has America done wrong???
Why are the nations of the world (most nations tho) against America? Why do you people want America demolished?

Some will tell you:
America's a sinful country! Corrupt! This and that!!! No wonder why God is punishing America, they would say.
Most stations always sing the song: America...is falling...

How about you? Are you not sinful? What difference does it make - when you have done more abominable things. You conceal your own wickedness...and that makes you more dangerous.

---
i'm not trying to justify America's 'dark sides': NO - not my intention. I know there are the 'dark sides'.
(Although I don't like American Football;))

But why the level of repulsion and criticisms??? All preachers preach against America. Ordinary people have something to say against America.

Perhaps it's something done out of hatred or jealousy: sheer hatred and jealousy - in some cases. (I know all isn't well with America).

But Why the continual songs of criticism??? Tell me, perhaps I've been blind all these years to have joined in the songs. Perhaps I've been under a spell to have noticed them.

<tt>FW: A response on today's horrid event from a Canadian</tt> <tt>This, from a Canadian newspaper, is worth sharing.</tt>
<tt>America: The Good Neighbor.</tt>
<tt>Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:</tt>
<tt>"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth.</tt>
<tt>Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.</tt>
<tt>When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.</tt>
<tt>When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.</tt>
<tt>The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars! into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.</tt>
<tt>I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?</tt>
<tt>Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles.</tt>
<tt>You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon -! not once, but several times - and safely home again.</tt>
<tt>You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.</tt>
<tt>When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.</tt>
<tt>I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.</tt>
<tt>Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."</tt>
<tt>Stand proud, America!</tt>
<tt>This is one of the best editorials that I have ever read regarding the United States. It is nice that one man realizes it. I only wish that the rest of the world would realize it. We are always blamed for everything, and never even get a thank you for the things we do.</tt>
<tt>I would hope that each of you would send this to as many people as you can and emphasize that they should send it to as many of their friends until this letter is sent to every person on the web. I am just a single American that has read this.</tt>

Analysis: Albeit written 28 years ago and subject to unauthorized revisions during the course of its travels in cyberspace, the bulk of the above text is authentic and correctly attributed. Journalist and radio personality Gordon Sinclair delivered the commentary on his Toronto show in 1973, when anti-American sentiment was at an all-time high. For obvious reasons, Americans ate it up. The piece had already been circulating on the Internet, sometimes attributed to Sinclair and sometimes not (but always to "a Canadian"), for several years. Its suddenly renewed popularity in September 2001 can be attributed to the devastating terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. Americans, smarting from the implicit hatred behind these acts, found solace in sincere words of appreciation from a geographical neighbor.

One thing I noticed is that our biggest critics are like the foxes that watch the hen house while accusing the farmer of being a danger to his chickens so-to-speak.

The thing is that this nation was traditionally founded on Christian truth and as such the devil (and those nations) hate the truth, and the prosperity that results from following the truth. They rather you become scrappy strugglers like their people are.

Also, this is just one more of many subtle proofs IMO that the many people of the USA are also genealogically related to the people of Israel, and being Abraham's seed as heirs to the promise will naturally be hated as well. There was always that jealousy.

Americas founding fathers are not who we were taught to believe they were. Ive been reading a lot lately about this supposed land of the free & we are not at all free.

The world's resources are so unevenly distributed. USA is by far the worst offenders of taking more than is deserved or really what is fair. I would suspect that if I were in another nation that may be having hard times, it'd be hard for me not to dislike America too...

I feel like we look like the big, wealthy snobs of the world...spoiled. Yes, we help other nations, but as is evident by our Middle Eastern occupation...sometimes these nations don't want us there, and it seems that these occupations/actions are all for $$$$$ rather than the well-being of others...

I don't know that we're the best or worst in the world, but I doubt our greatness. I think there may have been a time when America was...I don't know...not just the world leader in stuff (military might, money, standard of living), but also maybe stood for someting. I don't know. I was bornin 84, so by then the economy was down and we'd already lost some luster.

Anyway, we do imprison more people per capita than any other western, industrialized nation. I think at one point the Soviet Union beat us out (big surpise), but no longer. We have lots of poverty compared to many similarly developed nations. The crime rate is higher here than in many european countries.

Its not all bad news. I mean, I'm glad to live here. I think maybe losing a bit of our might and the economic downturn might turn out to be a good thing, like maybe we'll re-evaluate the "american dream" and start working towards the greater good and things like that. Or not. We'll see.

Meh, I stand by the doctrine of American Exceptionalism. Although I question if a civil discussion is possible on that topic, as everyone seems to be very set in their views.

From the PoV of someone not in North America, what Navigator said. :yes

I stand with you, DarkHorseRising about American Exceptionalism. I also agree that I doubt if a civil discourse can be had about this.

Do we as a nation have our flaws? Of course ... we're made up of very human beings, and as such, we do have flaws.

Yet, we're still the country where many people from around the world want to send their children for university. And so many of those 'children' stay here to work in their careers.

When another part of the world has traumatic events occur, the US leads the way in providing aid, whether food or money to rebuild or medical. And it isn't just our government that sends these things; individuals raise money et al to send as well.

There is much that is good about this nation. With the exception of Canada and Australia... not sure where else in this wonderful world I would consider living if I ever chose to leave here.

The rest of the world hates us for the same reason the rest of the baseball world hates the Yankees.

Or to put it another way, how many countries allow you to stand on the street corner (or in a chat room like this) and tell the world about how awful you think your country is, without any fear whatsoever that you'll be arrested or taken away in the middle of the night?

For that matter, how many countries have people risking their lives to get here because they know that they're free to practice their religion, vote according to their beliefs, or otherwise live their lives without persecution? How many people build a raft and try to get OUT of America? How many people in Texas sneak across the border to start a new life in Coahuila?

How many countries allow someone at the bottom of the social hierarchy the opportunity, through their own hard work and talents, to get somewhere in life? How often does it happen here compared to India or China?

People find it trendy to bash the USA, including a disturbing number of people within it. So I'll just say that I wish people appreciated just how good America has been to them.

The irony being that most of the world won't get that joke. :lol

That's OK. Those who do will understand, everyone hates the top dog. :)

Being both an American and a Yankees fan, I don't pay attention to the griping. I see the lips moving and all I hear is "blah, blah, blah."

I can insult my sister all I want, but don't you come in my house and insult her. we keep insults in the family.

We Americans can be the most critical of our government, but it's hard to hear others take shots at its decisions on a global scale. That's ironic. We don't trust our government as far as we could throw a dead elephant, but we become indignant when "outsiders" call our maneuvers untrustworthy.

As Navigator said, separate the people from the "institution". We grossly increase our living with bigger houses, more cars, more luxuries, MORE DEBT than we did 50 years ago, but we remain very ready and willing to help out when a world crisis arises. We are VERY compassionate and generous when there is a perceived need. In spite of an economy that has hit nearly every home in one way or another, we find ways to give when a part of the world (foreign or domestic) is in a desperate situation.

You can judge the relative freedom and greatness of a nation by counting the number of those who want to be there versus those who don't.

Even leftists (if they can be called "people") who say they hate this country refuse to leave it in favor of those peaceful, socialist utopias like Nigeria, Russia, Venezuela and Sweden.

Meanwhile, it seems these other countries just can't help losing population to us.

Guess the free food and health care are better here. :bigfrown

If suddenly, overnight, every single country in the world had open borders for people to go anywhere they want, half the world would be coming to America. We are still the last best hope for the world.

Perhaps one needs to ask a question, each an American should ask himself/herself a question: what did I really do wrong? Did I commit any offence? Time for an individual views, also...

America has been condemned as evil, all nations including all people are evil.
The problem is those who keep condemning USA are the ones who would give an arm and a leg to go there. Whenever there is a natural disaster, whether it be an ally of the USA or any one of the muslim countries she is the first to give aid. I believe many countries are jealous of the USA. I would never say all is well in the USA but to me it is still a great country.
