Laughing at the words you spoke,
But You did not change.
You spoke what was true
All they did was reject You.
Thorns were pressed against your brow,
But tenderness was all You showed them.
You patiently waited while they scorned and mocked you.
As they drove nails through hands and feet.
They called you a liar and a cheat.
They lifted the cross,
You asked your Father to forgive them.
Son of Man,
Son of God,
You laid down your life for all mankind.
Yet you rose again.
You had defeated Satan
And conquered death.
