I thought I had read judges,but I don't remember this part=/
A levite man has a concubine, she is abused, and murdered.
The levite man chops his concubines body up into twelve pieces, and spreads it around Israel.

And when he came into his house, he took a knife, and took hold of his dead concubine and divided her [body] limb by limb into twelve pieces and sent her [body] throughout all the territory of Israel.

Who was this man? and why did he do this?

This was a sexual sin that was committed by some of the men of the Tribe of Benjamin. They raped this woman until she was dead. The guy that was keeping her as a concubine sent pieces of her body to all the tribes of Israel. The other tribes warred against the tribe of Benjamin as judgment until it was nearly wiped out. Esther was from the Tribe of Benjamin, but it was not much of a force after that.

Jdg 19:1 And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
Jdg 19:2 And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father's house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
Jdg 19:3 And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.
