Leviticus 17:6 And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD. (11) For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. (14) For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

In those three verses we see the reason for this age, for our flesh life!

Before we can enter the door to the tabernacle of the Lord, we MUST discard our carnal/flesh nature! The blood and fat of our flesh must be sacrificed to Him..."for a sweet savour." We have two lives...flesh and spirit. The "life of the flesh is in the blood" so our flesh must die for us to be truly spiritually alive.

Our spirit/souls have been since the first age. Some of us rebelled with Satan. Our Father, in His infinite mercy, created or formed us, (depending upon what we did in the first age), into this flesh body where He allows us to "maketh an atonement for the soul" for the previous age in this age. The life of our flesh is our blood and blood must be offered as atonement. He literally sacrificed His blood for us but we must spiritually offer ours.

Does that mean we must physically perish to be spiritually alive? No, for He offerered Himself.....

  • Hebrews 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this He did once, when He offered up Himself.

But, when we are indwelt by His spirit then we have spiritually offered our flesh and blood to him. We are crucified with Him.....

  • Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

WW,

At Mt. Sinai the 12 tribes turned back in their heart to the Egyptian worship. The golden calf of Sinai is the pre-cursor to the golden calves under Jeroboam at Bethel and Dan.

At Sinai, God bound the 12 tribes over to the worship of angels. The law was delivered by angels. When Stephen witnessed to the leaders of Jerusalem this history, they went mad and gnashed their teeth and... Even while reigning in Jerusalem, the hearts of the Jewish leaders were bound up with the shadow of Egypt and the sun-dial of time.

Sinai is an expansion of the "old man." Sinai is necessary, for sin to come to the full, that grace ( discipline/chastisement/bitterness/sanctification ) can abound and reign through righteousness ( faith/justification/imputation/sweetness ), unto eternal life ( without evenings and mornings/with genealogical authority ) that is in Jesus Christ, our Lord; who is neither Jew nor Greek; neither religious nor humanistic.

Jesus of Nazareth is the full reality of God's purpose in the creation of man. All other processes are only partial manifestations of God's truth. Yet each of these partial manifestations claim that they are the only true and thereby the complete revelation of God. We know in part. This is Egypt. We prophesy in part. This is Jewish. That which is perfect swallows all of the partial manifestations.

Lam 2:1-2
2:1 How hath the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!

2 The Lord hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof. KJV

This is the destiny of our "old man"; he who has been "fitted for destruction." Romans 9:22 . The "vessels"/ "tabernacles" of wrath/law; for the law works wrath. Where there is no law, there is no transgression.

Let us not bring a railing accusation against the 12 tribes and the law that the Lord bound them/us under.

The outer man is perishing, while the inner man is being renewed day by day, our daily bread. Not by our will, but by his will. Not by our plans, but as he guides our feet; against our will/plans/desires; even to do good. Then we have our calling by a dispensation of grace, while we wait for our reward from heaven.
