Lol! Who doesn't? :wink It's really hard to believe that at the end of next week I will be starting the Thanksgiving countdown since next month it'll be Thanksgiving in the US. I forgot when the UK's Thanksgiving is and I do believe it is more like a church thing than a family thing right? That is if I'm remembering what Tessa told me about it correctly. :confused
As a lover of America and American culture, I have my own little Thanksgiving in my apartment. I am not aware of a UK version of Thanksgiving; Tessa may be able to teach me something there. I may have heard of the event without making the connection to Thanksgiving. :chin

Yeah and Canada also has a Thanksgiving as well. The way I see it though, your country doesn't have to have one for you to be able to thank God for all of the blessings in your life which is what Thanksgiving is all about anyways so it's really nice that you have one. :) Besides, who doesn't like all of the turkey and mashed potatoes? :wink

That is very true; well phrased.
I grate mature cheddar into my mashed potatoes, stir it, and add more. Turkey and cheddar mash, fantastic!

Eh, I personally prefer gravy and I feel like that's something that you can never get enough of. :wink Anyways, enough about Thanksgiving for now as it's still Halloween time right now hehe. :mischief

The UK doesn't v
Celebrate Thanksgiving
I understood that America started this holiday as a thanksgiving for their new country and the great oceans you have. If that is correct there's great reason for family celebration
Our version is Harvest in late September
It is a church festival thanking God for providing. We take food to church filling baskets and boxes. They are then taken to those who need them

Umm,.. I think that you're mixing it up with Independence Day. I mean I guess you're sort of right but it's more to commemorate when the pilgrims made peace with the Indians. :)

I need to create a thread ,the first thanksgiving was in,la florida,at st.Augustine but even earlier in Puerto Rico, and Pensacola .the French, dutch also did this .we just because of the English puritans assume they did it first .la florida predated Plymouth rock by 60 years ,Canada also has that day

I can't believe that I'm saying this already but tomorrow is Halloween!! :sohappyToday I will continue working on my spookiest story entry and tomorrow Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parade will be posted in my Halloween party thread. :biggrin

Also, tomorrow night after I am finished handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters, the countdown to Thanksgiving 2019 will begin! :thumbsup
