Although I'm used to these scary popups that I get on my laptop by now and I realize that they're just scams trying to get me to buy their latest software, this is the first time I ever got that I was being tracked and tracking cookies were discovered on my computer. StoveBolts, do you or anybody else on here know exactly what this is all about?

There are probably tracking cookies placed from just about any website you visit. They are used to track your internet activity to see what you find interesting. Ever notice that when you visit some sites, the advertising you see reflects things you have recently searched for?

For example, I recently did a web search for a new style fishing hat. Now, when I visit Facebook, I see adds for the very style hat I was looking for. I also searched Cabela's and I also see adds from Cabela's.

AVG and most antivirus software provides you with an option to delete tracking cookies.
