I was reading an artical entitled, "Holy and Holiness, Clean and Unclean" in Dictionary of the Old Testament Pentateuch.
In it I came across two passasges that I through were interesting, and maybe worth discussing in terms of grace vs faith, an area which is still gray to me.

"Keeping the law in itself did not make the people holy but prepared them to be made holy by Yahweh's presence, as the phrase "I am Yahweh who sanctifies you" attests (Lev 22:16,32)

"There was a latent moral danger: any person who failed to take the steps leading to a ritual purity committed a deliberate sin against God and became subject to the penalties for such a wrong. As long as a person followed the ceremonial and the moral law and used the means available to rectify any failure in keeping these laws, that person continued to be numbered with the holy people of God."

Do these quotes in context of OT Law make you think of anything in the NT.

I am not sure what u were after but maybe this will help. Most get grace wrong today but that is no surprise (Jesus said in the last days there would come a falling away) (it is a falling away from the truth not the church). Grace is gift, it is giving something to someone that did not deserve the gift. Grace was not what was given, forgivness and being brought into fellowship with God is what was given. When u have grace u have God. Faith is trusting God and believing that God will. (the question with God is not (can God) but (will God) ). As for the law, some of the law was done away with and some changed (example> in the old God said (do not commit adultry) but in the new God said (if u look at a woman to lust after her u commit adultry in ur heart). We r still under the law and always will be. Sin is disobeying God's law and sin is what seperates man from God. God has a zero tolerance for sin, God will not be around sin, God will allow no sin to enter His kingdom, so why did God create a place that He knew would be so sinful? God wants something. IF u can serve God no matter the cost like Job and Joseph (go through the fire), If u can obey and surrender ur will and do God's will (take up ur cross), IF u can obey and say no to sin here while being tempted (overcome). Then u will have no problem serving and obeying God in His kingdom. We have a life time to become what God wants (some longer than others). God will not just zap and change u to where u will never rebel nor sin, if He were to do that He would be programming u and u would be no more than a robot (free will). The bible is like a giant puzzle. To understand the bible u must take ALL the bible says about a subject and put it together, if u take part and leave some out or pick and choose what u will believe ur puzzle will be wrong and incomplete (false doctrine). When u put scriptures together it makes some scripture not mean exactly what it says or u will have contradictions (it is refered to as rightly dividing the word of truth). like the bible says (study to show urself approved). i hope this helps u.
