I don't know if it's Biblical, but that was the best option against a hunkered down assailant with his own bomb-threat, and not exposing police personnel.

Since robots aren't mentioned in the Bible it's going to be hard to have an answer from the Bible. But when the police shoot someone to stop them from killing other people the legal term for it isn't "shooting someone", it's "using deadly force" and it applies to several things in addition to shooting someone with a gun. The use of deadly force in proper circumstances has always been accepted by our society, as well as most if not all other societies throughout human history. So the robot bomb fits the description of deadly force and therefore is OK in a situation like this where it was the most practical way to save the lives of others with the least amount of danger to the police or anyone else.

Whether it's Biblical or not will be debated until the end of time just as whether or not organizations like police departments, military, etc and even private individuals have the Biblical right to use other types of deadly force to protect themselves or protect others when there is no other viable alternative.

I'm afraid I cannot provide a Biblical reference, however I will add one comment.
In Germany, our security services use such facilities when required, however in US and UK politics, I believe innocent until proven guilty is still upstanding.
iLOVE, I use this phrase as you mentioned 'suspect'; this could be different for a known terrorist for example. Personally, if a person poses a thread to a large amount of citizens; I think lethal force is required to prevent further loss of life. In this scenario, I think electronically controlled machines are an excellent idea, especially in countries of war.

Should the police be allowed to robot-bomb suspects?

Your biblical thoughts please.

Uh, no. The uses of robots with bombs in them to kill people is a deadly precedent. Are we going to have these sent to the midst of protest groups next? One on every corner?

It is the people who are in control who wield that kind of power, and they can use at their SOLE discretion.

But it's not a new thing. A sword and/or a spear was an early form of killing machine. Buttons on a panel, programs or hands on primitive weapons are all similar.

Bible reference? How about "thou shalt not kill?"

That depends, now I will bet you that the bad guy's will now start to bring something to take the robots out.

We're a very short hop away from having military/police robot killer dogs and a wide array of other robotic killing machines.

I would prefer they would program such wizardry with rubber teeth to suppress and restrain their adversary's rather than exploding them to blood mist.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Will this suffice?

I had a somewhat snotty answer all ready to go.

All I can say is...........

Okay. Right after the scripture that was quoted, is...........

Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

I guess it is all in how you interpret scripture for yourself.

One can't be a law enforcement officer if one has a problem with lethal force.A simple traffic ticket can turn deadly.

I know you all know its the case of divide and conquer. The globalist super elite are loving it. There nearly got all your rights and there police state is in progress. Then they have full control of the nation and people. Who's there next puppet.
