Yeah, the carousel is pretty neat! Like John said, each horse is hand carved as is every gem. They are all over 100 years old and are absolutly stunning!Wow! Neat pictures! The carousel is my favorite though because at twenty-eight years old I still enjoying riding them. Still, riding a fake horse isn't as nearly as fun as riding a real one!
I grew up in Spokane, it's where my roots are!The carousel's horses are individually hand carved and painted. I rode them 40 years ago back when they had clowns, jugglers and mimes running around the park. (No admission fee)
Grab you some Pendalton wool shirts and gear while you are there. It's hard to find the quality stuff once you leave the area. And wool shirts don't wear out so long as you keep the moths out of them.
The coffee?
Meh...it's better in Brazil. (Just don't say that while there)
But you can go and fill a water jug in that river and not worry a thing about the purity...in fact it will be some of the best you ever had. It's pure snow melt and ice cold.

Unfortunatly, the river is toxic with pcb's from all the old silver mines. Most locals wont even eat the fish. I went fishing in it while I was there, and everyone I told said the same thing. Dont EST the fish. I heard it as a kid, and it's getting passed down.
Spokane gets its drinking water from the underground aquifer, and it's some of the best in America. But as far as river water, I grew up drinking out of streams in the summer that were almost ice cold. It's the sweetest, best tasting water I ever had.
Coffee.... you know they have drive through coffee shops. They now have a bikini drive through with topless Tuesday. Apparently they can get away with strategically placed stickers.... I'll pass.
If you ever want anything from the area, including moccasins from the rez, I can hook you up.
Ahhh, Riverfront Park.... so many memories. What you see are remnants from Expo 74. Mom took us there almost every day that summer. I still have some memorabilia. Nothing worth anything though.
I've kissed girls on that carousel. nuff said lol!
I love the park. And ride my son in laws bike down there almost every day last week. I've got a ton of pictures, but this one is why I made the trip. I cant express how proud i am of her! They grow up so fast, and i hate being this far away from her.
And I am standing funny... i look fat!

Ha, a buddy of mine looks just like Harry! But yeah, I was standing funny. Ohh well!Don't be ridiculous! You're not fat! You might be a bit big and chubby but that's only because you have to have room for that big heart of yours. You're a lot skinner than me though and forgive me for saying this, but you sort of look a tad like Harry Potter with those glasses.

I've got some more pictures I'll share soon.
I'm back in Michigan now and man, Its hot and humid!
It says its 93, but the humidity is awful. It was in the 70's in Spokane. Perfect weather to be out in, especially for bike riding. Not so sure about here though. Maybe later if it cools off.Oh stop insulting yourself like that! Anyways, how hot is it over there in your neck of the woods? The last time I checked it was a couple degrees over ninety in Ohio which is why I'm staying in the air conditioning house today except maybe I'll go out for a walk after supper if it cools down.

I'm gonna grill a steak and maybe go work on the Camaro. I've got some good fans to move the air around, so it's not too bad.
I'm more used to the water in Idaho...it was always usually safe. (Only a couple of bad spots from either livestock or that cyanide gold refining plant)I grew up in Spokane, it's where my roots are!

The IMAX was there last year. I saw the laser show for Pink Floyd there haha, several times hehehe.I'm more used to the water in Idaho...it was always usually safe. (Only a couple of bad spots from either livestock or that cyanide gold refining plant)
And your ponch?
Happens to the best of us.
However...the park being kept up is awesome. I was shocked that the carousel is still there. There used to be an imax theatre there when imax was brand new technology. Dunno if it's still there or not.
