  1. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

They can't answer Jesus because the New Testament says they can't, it's really that simple. As I stated in a previous post a while back, I could write a "New new Testament" and claim whatever I want, then 2000 years, and several violent crusades later, people would take it as truth. and David...
  2. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

okay...so what is your response to the answers I gave you concerning Psalm 110?
  3. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Indeed. The Tetragrammaton is not to be spoken nor written as it is believed to be sacred. But elohim is only a plural when not referring to the God of Israel.
  4. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Well it's quite simply explained, the Greek to English translation does a job of capatilizing the L in lord to make it appear that the LORD (YHWH) is speaking to someone of divine stature. Kind of like shooting an arrow and drawing a bullseye around it-that's the most common way of putting it...
  5. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

The term elohim in both ancient and modern Hebrew refers to either "god" or "gods", however, elohim is entirely situational. When referring to the God of Israel it is singular and when referring to pagan gods or powers it is a plural. Also you have to remember that elohim is just a title, much...
  6. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Okay, I was itching to answer this: thanks for the post again, you put forth a good point. Now, regarding Psalm 2: The Psalm begins by telling us that the nations are plotting against Israel. Yet how all their efforts are futile, as the Most High has appointed his King in Zion. Now this is...
  7. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

When did I quote from the NT? That was only to shoow the scripture in question:shame
  8. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Thank you for your post! Right Now I have to get myself off of the PC and go enjoy some dinner. I'll definately read through your post and reply to it in detail (especially in regards to Psalm 2), probably Tomorrow. Thanks again.
  9. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

I Believe in the "Old" Testament, just not the new one; also, wasn't my question asked first :) ? It seems fair that you provide your scriptual evidence and I counter with mine.
  10. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Now we're moving to the crux of the argument as some would argue that the Spirit of God differs in nature Holy Spirit. As the Spirit of God in the OT is not part of a Triune and by all accounts the OT argues against such practice. You can see why I am hesitant to believe the NT or the Christian...
  11. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Okay, and moving on from that it would be great to get some OT scriptures to solidify that notion.
  12. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Well the Spirit of God in the OT is not part of a Triune Deity. It is his prescence. Also I don't Claim to have proper understanding, never have. I simply wanted an answer to my question so that I could move forward. I'm basically asking for confirmation in the OT for evidence of a Trinity...
  13. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

It's not just an interpretation. If you read the psalms in context then it becomes obvious. APart from those two psalms whic hare highly debateable as we have experienced, no one has provided any OT scriptures to back the claims.
  14. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Haven't we gone over this :eeeekkk ? Psalme 2 was speaking of Israel and psalm 139 was speaking of the spirit of God which is different to the "Holy Spirit".
  15. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Can't take your word for it:shame I certainly haven't found any.
  16. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

It does, however, contradict with the OT, which is what it is supposedly based on.
  17. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

No but it all the verses it rests in are in the NT which is under question in this thread and scripture in the OT teach us that YHWH is one and stands alone. So you can see the conflict here. Also what textual evidence do you speak of?
  18. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Firstly, if you don't mind me saying, there is a danger in this mode of thinking. If something has been totally absent-or even frowned upon- in say, a book of British History, and then years later a book is released detailing said absent event that radically conflicts with what was taught...
  19. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

Well we know that the Old Testament was the word of the Most High and he revealed secrets unto his prophets. If they never mentioned anything of it there is a danger in believing it. YHWH wouldn't have kept a secret this huge especially considering the amount of time he spent speaking of how he...
  20. Q

    Comma Johanneum/Changing of the Bible.

But then wouldn't that then falsify the rest of the New Testament teachings and bring the entire work into question. Also wouldn't this doctrine then cause you to be worshipping more than one God and putting other Gods on level with or above the Most High?
