Well Amen, praise the Lord for your recovery! The way God can deliver people from mental illness goes against the rules of some psychiatrist. That is enough to drive them nuts! Did the approach that Teen Challenge uses help you in any way? I will keep you in prayer.

Maybe if there are differences, it is based more on how society has influenced the thinking of men and women.

I think women are different than men in that they have a more complex way of doing things, but also women vary a lot among themselves. I can't remember the last time I saw a group of women all agree on how to do something.:tongue

Philippians 4:5 - Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] at hand. KJV I think the sin would come when anything, whether it is eating donuts or smoking is done in excess. Although I don't know very many people who smoke in moderation.

I will have to go back and read it more carefully. All I am really saying is that simply believing in the existence that Jesus is real does not make one saved. Where I am at right now in my walk is that I believe that everyone is given the opportunity to be saved. It is not like some of us...

I agree that we are saved by grace through faith and not of works. It is just that in the OP it says "Faith without works is.....Faith". I understand it to be "Faith without works is dead".

You are wise to be able to recognize that and God bless you. I so often let my fixations on personal interest and hobbies and what not go on too long before I recognize it.

What does it mean in John 3:16 when it says "who so ever believeth"? Surely it does not just mean believe in the existence of Jesus.
