The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

I think this misses the word, 'only' doesn't it? If I say I'm doing something for someone, it does mean that I'm not doing it for someone else. Unless I specifically exclude that possibility.

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

I'm with you. It is pretty simple isn't it? There are at least two clear verses. 1 john 2:2 John 1:29 I'm surprised by all the talk, and lack of engagement with scriptures about the topic. So many red herrings ...

    "Us" and "Them"

I wonder if it is we think we want to think we are beyond sin. Perhaps that we no longer have any weaknesses and we see weakness in the sins of others. We are now more than conquerors! We are above 'them'. Certainly this isn't the case with groups like AA. Here the leaders also identify with...

    Good Friday

So is it on the fourth day (i.e. after three days and nights)? Or on the third day? Jesus many times says on the third day, only once, whether quoting Jonah does he say three days and three nights. I bet there are many cruises that are 'three days' where it is from Friday afternoon until Sunday...

    Good Friday

Not sure that your use of the word day has much meaning when coming to interpreting the bible. Shouldn't it rather be the way the Holy Spirit intended it to be interpretted? As for the phrase three days and three nights, if it was for three days and nights, then wouldn't that be on the fourth day?

    Good Friday

Which is a good reason not to use the KJV. In the greek, (Mat 16:21, 17:23, 20:3, etc) the third day is in the dative, I can't think of any uses of the dative which would mean after, or before the third day, so on the the third is a pretty good translation. But then again their might be some who...

    Good Friday

Actually in Gen 1, there was night and there was day. In Jewish thinking the day starts in the evening.

    Good Friday

Wesley's answer to this Three days and three nights - It was customary with the eastern nations to reckon any part of a natural day of twenty - four hours, for the whole day. Accordingly they used to say a thing was done after three or seven days, if it was done on the third or seventh day, from...

    Good Friday

Why do you need a third night? It is ON the third day Jesus was raised. Friday first day SAturday second day Sunday third day. On the Sunday, if we had a third night, that would into the fourth day. If you book into a hotel and you book for two days, it is only one night!

    Good Friday

I don't think it is that hard is it? Friday was the first day, when he died and was burried, Saturday was the second day, Sunday was the third day, rising 'on the third day'. Where is the problem? What is the lord's religious calendar? Sounds like something dodgey to me.

Why is God so cruel in the OT?

So where is God cruel that he kills someone for consexual sex? Quote a passage of the Bible. Give something concrete, otherwise it is just empyt words.

Why is God so cruel in the OT?

Being murdered for consensual fornication, heterosexual or other, is not just. Really? Always? What about if it involves spying and treason? At least in the US treason is punishable by death, and if I'm not mistaken the last case I'm aware of involved sex and was part of the process of bringing...
