That is like a pauper saying "I am a millionaire but I have not got it yet". The only thing seen as Perfect in the eyes of Christ is whatever is true in us, which is not much in comparison to Christ.

So you are perfecting but not perfect. What is perfect is Christ in us, not us in Christ.
