Hi Deb--Not sure what you had in mind with the above passages but here are 2 quick thoughts:
1. Two or three compose an assembly, Heb.10:25.
2. The words of Mat.18:19,20 were spoken by our Lord before He established his church.

If not going to church is not a salvation issue then Jesus built His church for nothing (Matt.16:18). If not going to church is not a salvation issue then Jesus shed His blood for nothing (Acts 20:28).
Please read Eph. 1:17-23. If not going to church is not a salvation issue then Jesus is the...
Right! And the next verse after Heb.10:25 which reads "forsake not the assemble" says (vs.26) if we "sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall...
Hi Kathi
I agree with all your comments, unfortunately its true. That's why I said there are all kinds of churches out there. However, Jesus has His church out there among them. It can be identified in the scripture. Even those who compose it are not perfect as I'm sure you will agree you...
Hi Kathi:
My mistake. I mistook your signature. At my age my sight is diming as well as hearing.
Jesus said in Matt.16:18 He would build His church. Anything Jesus built must be of extreme importance. He said and did build His church. In Acts 20:28 Paul told the Ephesian elders that the...
Hi TOB
I listed several passages from the NT teaching the essentiality of baptism such as Mk.16:15,16; Acts 2:39; Acts 22:18; Rom.6:1-about 19; Gal.3:26,27 and I Pet. 3:21.

I failed to hit the right key to show that the bottom of the above post was mine, beginning with the list of scriptures. Sorry for the mistake.

As I said I have no desire to quarrel with you. If I misunderstood you I apologize. I do stand ready to discuss any doctrinal subject with you which you feel we disagree on.

I have never met any of the Crossroad group. However from what I have heard of them from reputable witnesses I agree they are cultish. As I have stated in a previous post we have no fellowship with them. They went out from us. As the apostle of Christ wrote: ''THEY WENT OUT FROM US, BUT THEY...
By anti I meant what your father-in-law is. Some are anti giving to a non-Christian out of the church treasury (although they do give liberally to such personally). Some of them do not give to orphan homes from the treasury (although they do liberally personally). Some have no fellowship...
Hi again Jeff77. I regret I forgot to answer your question about the "discipleing" group. They split off from us several decades ago and originated in Florida. I don't know what they are called now but back then they were known as "Crossroads" and originated in Florida. What you said of them...
Hi Jeff77-- I also have friends who are Baptist. We understand baptism differently. We understand baptism is for the remission of sins, to be saved. They do not. Both churches immerse and will not accept sprinkling or pouring.
