    Was Jesus Really the Christ?

For whatever reason, I overlooked this post: There are prophesies that refer to suffering and those that refer to glory...there is nothing that says these contrasting prophesies had to happen concurrently, nor does it tell us they had to be fulfilled in sequence immediately one right after the...

    Was Jesus Really the Christ?

I don't even see a problem, let alone a complex one... Again, Zechariah 14:9 for example ... "And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one." Why does this prophecy need to have happened already in order to believe that Jesus is the Christ...

    Was Jesus Really the Christ?

I presented that question in another forum a couple of years ago...the only answer I got was from a secular Jew who basically said that Isaiah was a nut and that they reject his prophecy. All the others refused to answer and none even refuted the notion about Isaiah being a nut. That's about...

    Was Jesus Really the Christ?

First, I just want to publicly apologize for my comments to you...I completely misunderstood your intent. Thanks for your clarification via PM. I just don't see how those verses prove that Jesus didn't fulfill the OT requirements, thus suggesting He wasn't the Christ. Why is it necessary...

    Will God hate me?

Start with the Gospels (Mathew, Mark, Luke and John) You will be drawn to the character of Christ, his love and his wisdom in dealing with adversity. Your fear and anxiety will be lifted...Also read Proverbs - There are 31 - that's at least one for everyday. It will give you practical advice...

John 15:2-6 proves damnation can follow salvation

Right, and that work of God will express itself in how we live our life...I agree, along with the rest of your post #78. ...but it seems my comment got us a little off topic - apologies.

John 15:2-6 proves damnation can follow salvation

Sounds more like being saved by works through fear rather than by grace through faith...but maybe not - just sayin'

    2 Peter 2:21-22

But did they ever truly believe in their heart, or was it just superficial? Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

John 15:2-6 proves damnation can follow salvation

Romans 8:9 - "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Let me remind you that if anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know... None of what you posted leads me to...

    2 Peter 2:21-22

I don't know if I'd say grasping for straws, just sincerely trying to understand and find practical examples of what the text is trying to say...but fair enough. The context of the whole chapter is talking about false prophets/teachers...and it uses some very strong and horrific language...

    2 Peter 2:21-22

There is a difference between "escaping the pollutions of the world" and "being saved from the power and penalty of sin" Many people have escaped the"pollutions of the world," like drug addictions through Christain rehab progams and attending Church service...some go onto be fruitful...

John 15:2-6 proves damnation can follow salvation

There is nothing to address...I like those verses. It's obvious that he's referring to a non-believer that lives according to the flesh: Romans 8:8-9 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the...

    2 Peter 2:21-22

Do you believe that one can be cleansed by the blood of the Lamb simply by having knowledge of Christ? - because that's what you seem to be implying. There is a big difference between knowledge of Christ, and actual belief in Him... John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one...

John 15:2-6 proves damnation can follow salvation

You conveniently skipped this part for some reason: Romans 8:8-11 "Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. John 15:2-6 proves damnation can follow salvation

If one is living a sinful life and enjoying it without discipline from God, then I find it hard to believe they were ever saved in the first place... I do understand your intent...I just think there are better ways to apply it if your intent is sincere.
