"Is there a problem here?"
Ya, there is a problem...there is no reason that a small group of believers can't join together once or twice a week to worship, study and break bread without attending some shady institution and giving them all their money to pay for the big building and all the...
Of course it's confusing...they've been going on for 2000 years.
people need to get over themselves and just live the life God has set before them...no need to be a fortune teller.
Well, if you haven't noticed God's sense of humor while reading the bible, then maybe I need to buy a different translation...
God just cracks me up sometimes.
Sometimes I think us brothers are a little too up tight, and to that I say..."lighten up Francis..."
That's fine...i get it.
personally I think we should celebrate that everyday...I just have such a disdain for many of our traditions. Just a bunch of nonsense that distracts us from what really matters. I grew up Catholic...lot of tradition, absolutely no truth...
The answer to this death penalty thing is very simple...
You execute the chained man guilty of raping and brutally beating your mother to death.
After your death, you now have to answer to God. Now, if He doesn't condemn you, do you really think he'll reward you for it? Have you not already...
"All of my family are strong Christians and no one has equated Jesus with Santa."
I was referring to those who aren't strong christians...
Non-christians resent us...it is way it is. They look for any reason to look on christianity with disdain. They see us celebrating in a pagan way and use...
To be honest...It's all just lies. All of them...then when out kids get older and equate Jesus to Santa, the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy, we wonder where we went wrong.
Lies...they're all lies. Santa...might as well be Satan. Either he's soooo slick or we're just a bunch of...
it's interesting on how we demonize one pagan tradition and favor another just because we grew up with one and not the other...like Paul said, if you want to eat meat sacrificed to idols, then eat...it's not like we actually believe in those idols. Same thing with Halloween...it's just kids...
I've like Phill Collins even back when I was a little heathen child - singing lyrics to his song as he played on New Years Eve when I was 4 years old. My parents exclaimed, laughing "HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS SONG!"
When I was a boy scout I finally bought an album at the trading post at a pow...
I'm sorry...I did misread your post to my embarrassment, lol...I practically reiterated your response. That's what I get for skimming through the replies without due diligence. I hate it when people do that to me, and here I am doing the same.:shame
They worship the same God - the God of Abraham, but they don't know him...their knowledge is incomplete. We are here to fill them in, and we have an advantage : they're not atheist and we don't have to travel to Iraq or Jerusalem to witness to them - God has brought them to us. :)
That's how...
It's not a sin unless your conscience says it is for you...and though I don't see it as a sin ,that field may at one point cause you to sin in what you say...in what you acknowledge and in what you deny.
hey Edward, the fact is that God does see a difference in sin...I've provided plenty of examples. This fact unfortunately leads people to minimize their sin, but thats their problem and God will judge them for it...We can't just lie and say all sin is equal in the site of God just so people...
Sin is sin, yes...no excuse. It all leads to death, but the answer to the question posed is a resounding yes...God see's a difference between sin, otherwise there would be no reason to be judged according to our deeds and suffer loss of reward. the fact that some may use that as an excuse to...
Well, that may have not been the best example to illustrate that God does see a difference between various sin.
All sin, no matter how "trivial" in the eyes of man leads to death, but that doesn't answer the OP's question. Scripture is full of examples that show varying degrees of punishment...
