This is a view of what is known as the Gaumates Valley, near La Condamine, Monaco. You can see how the Alpes are very steep here, right down to sea level.
Okay so what about some favorite hymns?
Here are verses from William Kelly's 'Praise the Savior, Ye who know Him'.
"Keep us, Lord, O keep us cleaving
To Thyself and still believing
Till the hour of our receiving
Promised joys in heaven.
Then we shall be where we would be,
Then we shall be...
Okay so people are posting pictures of their favorite destinations. I have been many times; this is a view from Monaco's Exotic Garden, with The Rock in the background:

Okay so on the other thread questdriven and I got talking about the Pink Panther but it was a bit off topic there.
But then there is the pink ribbon. Isn't it a breast cancer solidarity thing?
Blessings.
Genesis 8.22 says:
'While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.'
Up here in Canada, the '...and cold...' part is happening: approx. minus 30C windchill tonight... :)
The Lord is faithful.
Blessings.
From after midnight onwards, those born 18 years ago at the beginning of 1996 will officially be adults.
How time flies!
We have a niece at university, who is remembered as a baby at what seems such a short time ago.
We need to pray, pray, pray for our families and Christian friends...
"Yea, Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
Jesus, to Thee be glory given.
Word of the Father,
Now in flesh appearing,
O come let us adore Him,
Christ, the Lord!"
Okay so we just got the power back after an ice storm. The outage lasted from Saturday night/Sunday morning until this evening, Christmas Eve, in this part of Canada; the US from Michigan to Maine was also affected by power outages.
We had lots of (cold) adventures. :)
Now we can concentrate...
Okay so: more snow. As the carol says: 'Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow. In the bleak midwinter...'
There's Canada for you. :)
(Trouble is, there's not enough space in Key West, Fla. for all the Canadian snowbirds to fit on it...)
We have had snow, and more is on the way...
I like the carol which says:
'Snow had fallen,
Snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak mid-winter,
Long ago.'
Okay so here's a thread on the latest on quitting smoking.
I don't want to go back to it; it's now been several years since I quit, although I do still like the smell.
What are other ppl's current experiences in the quitting side of things?
Yes, as Angel reminded us in the other thread, Christmas is approaching! We are already doing our Christmas card list.
We had thought of doing a trip between Christmas and new year, but we are not quite sure; the weather is often uncertain and at my age now I don't like driving long distances...
Okay so after the chequered career of the carving pumpkin video, here's something different:
Up here at Tim Horton's, in Canada, they are now selling pumpkin flavored tea.
My wife, who loves pumpkins, was amazed.
I guess I was, too.
Anything to drum up some more business in fall, I...
Okay so I used to smoke; I don't now.
Chocolate, too, in excess, can be damaging to health. Some people even quit eating chocolate, too.
I'm wondering why for some ppl smoking is regarded as a 'religious taboo', while eating chocolate is not?
(Just wondered.)
