    Denying Jesus

I think "lack of proclaiming Christ is not denial" is what I am getting at and wondering whether that was even a denial.

    Denying Jesus

In Matthew 10:33, we see that whoever denies Jesus before men, He will deny them before the Father in Heaven. Example: If someone on Facebook writes a lie about Jesus, and a Christian feels that maybe they should correct the lie, but then doesn't, has that Christian denied Jesus before men...

    Bible Study 1 Corinthians 5

In 1 Corinthians 5:11, it says: 11But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 1 Corinthians 5:11 KJV - But now I have...

[__ Prayer __] tormented christian please read my story and help me out

I think I can understand what you are going through because I had and am currently coming out of a similar situation where I thought I could not be saved. You know what has helped me a lot... First, trust in Jesus. Also, dig into His Word in the Bible. I have multiple Bible verses that I...

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

I'm basically saying that the reason someone does works is because they have faith... Why do you do works? To me, the answer is because you have faith. Works are a result. The works themselves don't save.

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

I'm saying that there is more to the context in Matthew 19 (rich, young ruler). As for bias, I am a former Catholic and almost my entire family is Catholic.

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

What is your understanding of "doing His Will?"
  10. T

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

I think we need to clarify our positions... This is what I'm saying: We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus alone. Good works (things like helping the poor) are a result. What is your position?

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

In Luke 7:50, Jesus told a woman that her faith has saved her. Romans 3:28 says that we are justified by faith apart from works of the Law. Aren't the Commandments a part of the Law? This makes me think that there is some point(s) Jesus is trying to make in Matthew 19 (rich, young ruler)...

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

I'm not sure I was clear in what I was saying... Does God require perfection to enter into Heaven? I'm talking without Jesus (the only one who never sinned and the only one who was/is perfect).

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

I think Jesus was making a point in Matthew 19. In Luke 7:50, Jesus tells a woman that her faith has saved her. The question is what point was Jesus making in Matthew 19 (rich, young ruler)? When Jesus says to the rich, young ruler to "keep the commandments," does "keep the commandments"...

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

If someone has faith, avoiding sin and doing good works are things they will do. Works are a result of faith. Since we love Jesus, we will want to do what He commands.

    What does Romans 3:28 mean?
  16. T

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

The Commandments are in the Law. And we know that we are not saved by works of the Law (Romans 3:28). So your interpretation is wrong.

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

What about Acts 16? 30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16 - Passage Lookup - King James Version - BibleGateway.com He asks the exact question, "What...

Abraham had saving faith and it was shown by his obeying God. Abraham believed God and did what God told him to do.

    Faith AND Works-James 2...Again

Here is what I think... We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone. Saving faith will produce good works.
