Anyone here applied for a loan from the SBA? Advice sought.

The Small Business Administration has loans for business entrepreneurs. I'm qualified I think on a minority standpoint I think. Has anyone applied for such a loan? If so please share your experience. Did you go it alone and apply yourself? Or did you hire an advocate, like a lawyer? Thank you...
