According to the article, it's a different species, although it is in the same genus as one primitive group of today's mayflies.

So macroevolution, but just barely. A new species. Which is not surprising. As Darwin pointed out, a well-adapted population in a constant environment would be kept from changing very much by natural selection. Mayflies are a very ancient group of insects, which are known to have existed before the dinosaurs. This one is from the Cenozoic, a fairly recent member of the group. The older ones were much more different than this more recent one, of course.
