If your child is participating, particularly if they are in a younger grade level, it’s a great idea to talk to school officials in advance and let them know. You can explain that your child is participating in a religious-freedom event and that they are planning to do so in a respectful manner and in a way that does not disturb instruction time. If school officials have questions, you can provide them with the legal memo that explains students’ rights to participate.
