So in addition to this great forum I also post on http://www.thegeekshowpodcast.com/forum, until now that is. I made a comment about not abbreviating Christmas to X-mas, and oh boy was I shunned for being a Christian, and it's not the first time I have been on this particular forum. I'm just amazed at how many people will turn on you once they know your a follower of Jesus. I've lost friends since I've found GOD, and now I've lost my place to talk geek. Oh well Jesus never said it would be easy, but it will be worth it. I would love to talk geek so I'm glad we have the gaming forum and the TV & movie forums here.

GOD bless, I may be MISFIT but I feel like I fit here.

We are all (Christians) called to be misfits to everyone else (non Christians) in this world :)

That's messed up, but their loss is our gain!! I'm not sure what qualifies a person as a geek, but i know i love my music, movies and games.

Then your in! And thanks. :-)

I am i a geek if i horde firearms, collect and play drums ? :nag

I thought a "geek" was a strange or eccentric person. Hey in that case, I have some strange ways, and I can be accentric. I have my moments......especially when I was a trekky fan. So I guess we're all strange in our own little ways. Hey if we were all the same, man that would be boring. :lol

I used to go to another forum as well,I was fed up with the threads on christianity and blasting it while at the same time feeling sorry for muslim terrorists (some of them), well I got fed up trying to be gracious in standing up for the truth while not stooping to their level.
(Matthew 7:16 "you will know them by their fruit" Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self–control....Since we live by the Spirit...Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.") and I realised I was having a hard time with the patience part when I just wanted to hit them over the head with a frying pan so I was having a hard time with the self-control as well :oops

So true that even the friends you thought you had made you found out weren't when they sat back and let you be blasted! Got a good practical dose of the reality of the darkness can't stand the light!
So decided to come here and at least try and witness and talk in a civilised forum, one of the last I guess (why have all forums been hi-jacked by loud mouthed idiots allowed to intimated others under the guise of being witty? just a modern case of bullying to me - they would never say it to someones face and are just cowards saying it on a forum - anyway off that soap box of mine).

No one though on the gaming forum plays the same games as me or are on it much, playing the new tomb raider game at the moment - it's sweeeeeet :bounce

A geek originally was a circus freak that bit the heads of of live chickens. Not kidding.

Good for you for sticking up for non-abbreviation. :clap

You would be suprised at the actual origin of xmas.

Hey Vic..... :chicken here little chic, chic, and chicky :lol

:biglol :biglol

I'm done with that forum anyway too much swearing and too much talk about sexuality and the like (I won't even get into it here :nono )

I'm thinking about setting up my own geek forum, but it's just an idea now if I do your all invited. Thanks again for all your support.

Mine too Vic, it gives me strength and the truth of it, I rely on. That's why my AKA is carolpsalm 91, so daily when I type it, it reminds me of WHO I serve.

Vic, I just remembered something that happened out at my house before my son and husband were killed, many years ago. And I just got it!!! We had some friends out at our 10 acre place in the country, bringing the camping geer for the weekend pig pickin. You know pitching horse shoes, playing checkers and chess, sitting on logs around the bomb fire, swapping old fishing stories of the one that got away.

And Tammi a friend started beating up my husband Mikes best friend Joe, I mean she was slapping the snot out of him. And he's laughing and saying Geek, Geek, you're a Geek, and she got madder and proceeded to start using the fist then, she was so mad. And I'm thinking Tammi if you don't think you're strange then girl you need a strong dose of reality. Well, she's screaming at him and her hands start frailing him like crazy, smacking him in his face and the side of his head and he's screaming Geek, Geek, Geek, and truely I could tell she's in full fledge rage and it's getting out of hand/control. So I walk up and put my arm in between them, and she screams at me and said don't get in between me and him, he'll not call me a geek. And I said that's enough Tammi, this is my house and I say it's enough, this is rediculous. And I was just dumbfounded by her actions, and wondering what her problem was.....and I'm "thinking" she's a geek/strange and don't know it.

Well, after all these years and you mentioning that a Geek is a person in a circus that bites the heads off chickens. Well, no wonder she was slapping the fire out of him! I've been laughing my self to pieces when I remembered that today. And I'm thinking I thought I knew something all these years, and formed an opinion for all these years, and I didn't know nothing like I thought I did. :lol And it hit me out of the clear blue remembering it! Then of course I went ahhhhhhh that's why she was so mad....after all these years I finally got it! Cause it was just crazy to me how she was acting.

Thought you'd get a chuckle on that one Vic! :toofunny :chicken

Thanks if I do start one I'll post a link so anyone here can join. Don't worry abut intelligence being a geek is more about being a fan than anything else. You could be a geek if your a fan of... Video games, movies, TV, fantasy and Sci-Fi novels, table top games such as D&D, and even toys. I'm a fan of all these things I am a HUGE geek.

BTW I too love Tomb Raider, but I have yet to play the new one.

MITSFIT,

Oh my goodness, I've been a "HUGE" geek all these years too and didn't know it!!! :lol I love toys, but got rid of my star trek toys recently (filled the back of my husband truck) when I sold them. It was quite a large collection! You know 55 with toys?, but I still have my porceline doll collection, and my batman and robin, joker, and the rest....collectors. Told my husband I'm keeping those toys for my grandson for when he old enough, so that gives me a couple more years cause they're collectors. I have approx. 1000 books of Sci-Fi and fantasy in the attic. Love the Saint Germain series, Terry Brooks the Magic of Xanth, Tons of Sc-Fi movies...approx 300 out of 637 DVD's we have, and of course I got to have my Sci-Fi Channel...watch it 75 percent of the time outside the history channel, travel channel and A&E. Been a Dr. Who fan for about 30 years from the get go, and of course have my original Dr. Who logo wooden sign in my bedroom the size of a trash can lid. My favorite video is Heavens Sword, a female barbarian warrior, it's pretty good.....heard of it? Had all the original characters of Hell Raiser Movies, but when I got saved, I destroyed them. They were about 18" inches tall, worth about $200.00 a piece.

Now in the last 10 years I've collected, collectable autograph Christian framed Artwork, and christian collectable figurines of Christ....like the coat of many colors, the forgiven, the assention, bronze of Michael the Arch Angel stepping on the head and tail of satan, etc. etc. But recently I had to get them all insured. It really surprised me the value of my art collection when the appraiser came. It may not be much for others, but for me I was impressed with $15,000.00 and then I got scared about a fire. My most expensive ones are Noah's Ark by Du Bos, Greg Olson, Danny Hahlbohm, among other christian artist etc. etc. and when they're autograph it almost doubles the value. Just the six pieces I have in the livingroom alone were valued at $6,500.00, I had to sit down to register what he was saying, I slightly became faint, and my husband was yeah baby cause I was always bless in getting a good deal when buying them (I am a bargain hunter) and didn't even come close to spending that much in buying them....maybe about 5 or 6 grand through the years, and now they had more than doubled in value from my cost....almost tripled. I don't know their original prices. Bu the other day I checked out my Du Bos and just one painting print was $750.00 unautographed and all of mine are autographed with hand signatures along with printed signatures, made sure of that before I bought any of them. So I'm glad I listen to my husband about having them insured.

So now maybe I'm a christian Geek MISFIT!!! :toofunny

Alright that's just cool!! Sounds like a heck of a collection. My toy collection is rather slim these days but I still have most of my X-men and TMNT toys from the 90's.
