Bible Study a man of Ethiopia

I've read the "man of Ethiopia" was an Ethiopian Jew (based on the context of the chpt.), what was it the Ethiopian believed? Did he believe his sins were forgiven of just that Christ died as a lamb...it doesn't say, or does it?
